Tillmouth Park Country House Hotel

Lovely old Country House with real fires. Huge grounds. Oil paintings and chandeliers. Beautiful lounges and couches to relax on and great food. It was our anniversary and we had dinner looking out over floodlit trees. The staff were really nice especially the room maids who played jokes with the teddies in the room, (dressed as bride and groom!) and no charges for our dog! We saw two families of deer, squirrels, rabbits and hawks (kestrels?) in the grounds while dog walking, It ireally is lovely to see nature so close when you go away... more

Although very late in doing this review, I wanted to share with you the brilliant experiences I have had at this hotel. I have spent two birthdays here – one of which was a very special one – and both were made so by the wonderful hosts Ian and Elaine and their very attentive staff. This was our second visit to Tillmouth Park. We went back with trepidation as our first visit, exactly 1 year previously, had been a wonderful experience and we were concerned that a return would not live up to our memories. However, it was fantastic. This time we stayed D, B & B and the food was amazing, as was our room. Excellent for those wanting a secluded, peaceful or romatic break. We would also like to compliment the staff who were friendly, approachable but not intrusive. We are definately going back again.

We loved this hotel. We booked last minute. Our room was on one of the top floors. It was spacious and beautifully decorated. The staff could not be more helpful. They even turned the bed down and drew the curtains whilst we were at dinner! The restaurant was lovely. Overall a wonderful place to stay.

We stayed here for 3 nights during early July and booked including dinner on all three nights. Must say we enjoyed our stay and the excellent food.The hotel is set in its own substantial grounds and has the atmosphere and the size of a real country mansion. the service was first class and the room was large and well furnished with high ceilings and a 4 poster bed. The hotel is a dsistance from anywhere, being half way between Berwick and Coldstream, but there are plenty of places to visit within 30 minutes drive.
