Outdated hotel without facility
This hotel is outdated. The room are in poor conditions. AC is both very noisy and innefficient. Bathroom is very small. There is NO Spa. Swimming pool is dirty. The only nice thing is a very nice terrace. You could find much better value on Malta.

Do not go to this hotel - it has no windows in the rooms
We arrived at this hotel hoping for sunny views from our rooms, as the name implies. The onlt windows in the sitting room and main beroom overlook a service shaft with filthy pipes. Do not go there!!

wonderful staff, rooms need refurbishing
The rooms of the aparthotel are in need of refurbishment. We had asked for a seaview and we could see the sea if we looked round an ugly block in front of our rooms, above our balcony a large part of the ceiling had fallen off, this put us off sitting there. We had to have the light on if we sat in the lounge area of the room as there was little natural light. However, the staff were really lovely and very helpful. A word of warning though, we went on a Nova Tour to 2 flea markets, I use a mobility scooter and Nova charged a full adult fair for the buggy, when the 'bus' a Ford Transit type arrived it was a very old boneshaker with torn seating and no seat belts the buggy was in the aisle and my husband had to clamber over it to sit in his seat, I hate to think what would have happened in the event of an accident as the exit was blocked. When we arrived we were given 1 hour to look around the flea market...it was an ordinary market and most of the other passengers were disappointed also, we then visited to second supposed flea market which again was an ordinary market we were given 30 minutes to see around it...most people just found a bar. No way would I recommend this firm. We ended up taking a taxi to visit other attractions this only worked out 16 euros more given that we had to pay for the buggy. We loved our stay in Malta and found the people there so nice and friendly.
Great place to stay
Just back from Malta where I stayed at Sunny Coast with my teenage son. Having read some of the previous reviews, I was not sure to expect - however I would not hesitate to recommend this resort to others having been there myself. We were there on a timeshare exchange and stayed in a one bedroom appartment. I agree that it might not have been ideal for four people sharing but for us or for a couple it was fine. The living area and kitchenette had plenty of space. Yes, there was no view - expect to a ventilation shaft - but we spent little time in that room anyway. Our bedroom however was very spacious and the view from the balcony over the bay was fantastic. Whilst the balcony was north facing and so got no sun, the upside to this was that the bedroom did not get overheated and we only had to use the aircon on two occasions. I imagine that this might be a real bonus in the hot summer months. The towels in the bathroom were changed every day and the sheets twice in the week - I thought this was pretty impressive. The staff were all friendly too. We paid 15 euros utility fee for the week - this was OK and not excessive - particularly good value if using the aircon all the time. The use of the leisure club (indoor and outdoor pool etc) was free and towels were provided. The outdoor pool area had plenty of sunbeds and was clean and well looked after. However the pool was unheated so we only used it once. I guess in the summer, heating is not required but in October, it would have been better. We went off to the local beaches (Mellieha and Golden Bay) as these were sandy and easy to reach by bus. We did use the small indoor pool on a couple of occasions - the changing rooms could do with a lick of paint but were serviceable. The gym was a waste of time - much of the equipment was very old apart from the two treadmills, which were fine. Plenty of choice of restaurants in the area. Carry out pizzas available for 5 euros from The Boathouse - just across the road from Sunny Coast - if you want to eat on a budget. Best restaurant in the area is definitely The Overflow. Not the cheapest but they also offer a fixed menu for 12.50 euros. Easy to get to lots of other sights from the local bus terminus (10 mins walk) and the buses are VERY cheap. OK, perhaps it is not a four star resort but it was certainly a good three star and I would be happy to stay there again.

Not a happy camper!!!
We arrived late in the evening and having finally checked in arrived in our apartment. What a disappointment! The main living area had no windows and therefore no natural light. Whilst the two bedrooms had windows we had to keep the curtains shut during the day as the sun beat down on them from first thing. The Aparthotel is classed as 4 star and fully airconditioned however i would say it was pushing 3 star at best. Whilst the apartments have airconditioning it is antiquated and what they dont advertise is that it is centrally controlled and turned off several times a day. 4am in the morning is one of those times it is switched off which means that if you do manage to sleep you wake up wringing wet. Rather than have the aircon on they give guests a fan which is great for one bedroom but not two and merely circulates the warm air. They did however go and get us a second fan when we pointed out that the kids could not sleep for the heat in the bedroom. The balcony was off the main bedroom and although 4 chairs and a table were provided there really wasnt room to put two chairs out and still be able to open the door let alone all four. The bathroom was a good size but with no real ventilation the only window being small and opening out into a central area of the building where all the pipework was located and therefore with no air movement. The furnishings were adequate but not comfortable. When we checked in we were charged €56 for utilities and membership of the Lido. We discovered that they owned the Lido and therefore i am not sure why as guests we should have had to pay anything. The Lido was however adequate with a salt water pool and a small indoor pool. There was also access to the sea via a ladder from the rocky 'beach'. Plenty of sunbeads both in the sun and undercover. As we had a late flight home the hotel said that we would be able to shower and change before leaving for the airport. These facilities turned out to be a small room with a shower cubicle, basin and toilet directly off the main hallways, there being one on each floor. This meant that you had to get dressed in a room which was extremely humid, you were as wet after you had got dried as you had been in the shower, again lack of air circulation and extraction. All in all whilst the staff were pleasant and as helpful as they could be I wouldnt stay there again.

Wonderful, can't wait to go back
Great hotel, excellent value for money. Completely refurbished, rooms are to a high standard with everything you could need. The location was superb, only ten minutes from the bus termius which can transport you all over the Island for nit much more than a euro. The hotel was on a quiet corner with some lovely reataurants just a stone's throw away overlooking the sea, but with the option of a 5-10 minute walk to pleanty of other restaurants and live entertainment if you so wish. All in all the perfect Maltese location. We will definately be going back.

It was HOT ! HOT! HOT!
Just spent 2 weeks at Sunny Coast and it was lovely. There were 6 of us,two families of 3(The kids being 2 sixteen year old girls) We'd read loads of bad reviews and were a bit apprehensive ,how wrong can they be! The room was large and clean with fresh towels daily ,there wasn't a lot of natural light (which wasnt a bad thing when you neded a lie in) The reception staff were helpful and friendly especially Manuel who went out of his way to arrange trips for us.Yes we had to pay a utility charge but it was a small price to pay for air conditioning to escape the blistering sun.The hotel shop was great ,cheapest place to buy most groceries and the lido(which is where you had to go for sunbeds and the pool)was fantastic. There were plenty of beds, cushions and umbrellas ,the sea was crystal clear and easy to get in to and so refreshing we never used the pools at all. Also the snack bar had a great choice of drinks and food at very reasonable prices. Malta itself was lovely , its very small so we did a couple of day trips on the open topped buses and felt we'd seen most of the island(it was only 13euros per person and each one took all day) We'd recommend going to Valletta the capital it has magnificent churches,a war museum, lots of wonderful buildings and many shops. Also go and visit Mdina the old capital walled city, they make excellent glassware, and the Mosta Dome where is is believed a miracle saved the congregation during the war when a bomb fell on the church but didnt explode. There is just so much history and interseting things to see.The marine park is a good day out and we would tell every one to try the Malta buses which are so cheap and go everywhere. We woke to glorious sunshine every day with temperatures in the 40's so take lots of suncream.Eating out was so easy ,there is a road called Touriste street with loads of places to eat ,it was costing us on average about 90euros for six of us for three courses and drinks. We d specially recommend the chinese near the bus station, the Overflow just down a side street, the chippy which for a cheap evening was brilliant and our favourite Lastalla,an italian on touriste st which did exceptional garlic mushrooms, lamb shank, seafood ravioli and amazing profiteroles at great prices.Or try Tel kapetan on the sea front the views and food were outstanding. Sunny Coast is in an excellent position right on the seafront and near to lots of shops and restaurants, there is plenty to do and i would recommend it to anyone.

Thanks for all!!
The 2 weeks we spent at Malta and staying at Sunny Coast was fantastics. The hotell delivered excellent service. All in all a very good memory for all of us
Will definitely stay there again
My wife and I stayed at Sunny Coast during April and thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. The staff were very good, nothing too much trouble for them. A quite and relaxing atmosphere in a great location, indeed one would be hard pressed to find a better spot in Malta. Car hire is relatively cheap and there are good parking facilities at Sunny Coast. We will most definitely be going there again, and again
