We have just returned from a 2 week break at the sunny coast resort , our accomodation was spacious , very clean and well equipped . Our a/c worked brilliantly although other guests did not appear to be , all staff were friendly and helpful - the outside appearence does not give credit to the accomodation itself and we did not really use the pool (Mellieha Beach is fantastic) although from what we did see it looked clean etc
Anyone going should really enjoy and a visit to see Rachael and Andrew at Chaplins pub next door is well worth it

We have just returned from a week at the Sunny Coast on a timeshare exchange deal. We found our apartment (104) spacious and well equipped. Bedroom is dark being in the middle but the kitchen lounge area was large, clean and bright and well furnished. The reception staff were always helpful and polite, the pool area was clean and sunbeads were plentiful and lots of shade areas available for those who want to get out of the sun. The gym was not supervised and some of the equipment was faulty but adequate for a quick workout on holiday. We were charged 49 euros for utilities but this included the lido membership and the safe fee was another 2 euros per day (ut everywhere charges for safes usually dont they?) so not unexpected but would be nice if included in with utilities fee. Overall we feel that the Sunny Coast was a good experience and we would definitely go back there.

i had read the reviews and thought people were being too critical. Bad mistake.
drilling goin on all day , every day, no natural light in rooms, shabby, and the 59 euro unility charge outragous, dont know how they expect you to use that much water or electric.
i know it is early in the season but the sun was out, tne sun loungers and pools were dirty and there had been no attempt to clean them. The village square restaurant closed most of the time. although the meal we had there was very good. Olivers next door was very friendly. The nearby restaurant Chez Getane do huge, very very good meals.

Very nice and friendly appartments.
( We booked a seaview appartment )
From outside the Hotel doesn´t seem so pretty, but inside we found well furnished rooms and everything was quite nice and clean.
The pool ouside isn´t very big but it´s big enough if you consider not to stay the whole time at the pool because there`s also a big terrace at the seaside where you can take your bath in the sea !
Very good address to have your family vacation without an animation program.

Appalling hotel
I came here with my girlfreind and her 2 children, we were asked for over 100 euros for services (not told about this up front), also had to pay for the safe.
first room they allocated was backing on to the street, second bedroom (ours) was dark with a window looking out on to services we could hear people going to toilet all night, the rooms were in a permanent state of darkness.
we complained to the unhelpfull, surly receptionist and was told the hotel was full (it clearly wasnt) i asked to see the manager who blamed RCI but eventually after we made a lot of noise in reception said he would see what he could do.
we were moved 1 floor up but to an identical room!!!!!!! the rooms are dirty, the carpets are stained and the furnishings are old.
eventually after a week we were moved to a room that at least had windows.
there is no effective air conditioning do yourselves a favour and avoid this hotel you will not be impressed.
One good point is the bar next door Chaplins was great, cheap and freindly, dont go to sunny coast but do go to this bar and say hello to Pupu the parrot.

compaired to time share appartments in other countrys, this is sadly the worst i have ever been to. this year on arrival i found the furniture in a disgusting state. the suite's were filthy and caked in sun cream,as were the dinning room chair's. the tv did'nt work properly, the fridge freezer door lock was broken. i complained to the managment and found their attitude beyond belief. according to their thinking i should accept it becouse the appartment was due to be refurbished soon. in desparation i warned them that if things were not put right i would sit outside the main door and request any would be time share purchasers to see my appartment before they signed anything. that did the trick, 15 mins later they came and changed all the furniture. be aware this is not what i would class as 4 star by any means. on a positive note the people are really helpfull, and freindly.

We have just today come back from the sunnycoast re-sort. For myself and my girlfriend we both thort it was a lovely place to stay. The self catering rooms are all of a good standard to use as a base like we did. We were able to cook on the on odd night here and there. The staff were helpfule and very plesent to through out our stay. Always passing the time of day with you. The village square is a very nice place to eat. the food is extremly good and a fair size. The chef himself would come out and ask us if our food was to our liking. It was a bit to cold to swim in the outdoor pool, but it was still kept clean and in good working order. The indoor pool is a bit small but fine for just a quick dip. I'am a gym monkey and for me to have a gym on site was great.
Saying that it's not the most up to date gym I have ever been in,but did have everything I needed so you can not moan at that. It may not be as flash as some of the newer hotels but for people go on holiday to see where they are and not sit on there asses by the pool it's great.

We had been invited on holiday with very good friends who belong to RCI. The Sunny Coast Hotel was recommended and the pictures on the internet were beautiful.
In reality, when arriving the apartments were disgusting. The lounge/kitchen was dingy and dark. The bedrooms were of a very poor quality. The bathroom was disgusting. The air conditioning was antiquated to say the least. We stayed approx 45 mins, repacked and went elsewhere.
Our friends were embarrassed that they had brought us to such a second rate hotel, especially when RCI is a good time-share company. They will be contacting RCI on their return. Finally to ask for utility money of 50 lira was outrageous. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The swimming pool complex was over the road, not even attached to the hotel.

Very disappointed, no none slip mat in shower/bath, fridge too small for 4 people. Towels not always changed. Pool area dirty and over crowded. Maids don't know how to sweep floors. Only one wardrobe and three small drawers for 4 people. Pool staff tried to stop me taking my diabetic drink in. Over priced drinks at the bar. Outside tables and chairs rusty and very dirty. Sunny Coast needs downgrading to a 3 star.

Plus points.
Excellent, seemingly newly re-furbished hotel. Reception staff very friendly, helpful and efficient.
We had a one bedroom apartment on the top floor over looking Qawra and sea-front which was fantastic. It had new, good quality furniture and kitchen and equipment was excellent.
Pool area was kept clean and tidy, with plenty of sunbeds and lots of shade if required. There was a lovely, newly opened garden seating area with comfortable chairs and lots of subdued lighting in the evening(which gave it quite a magical feel)
Minus point.
Although our apartment can sleep four, we did not feel it was suitable for 4 adults, as the balcony was off the bedroom. The living area was rather dark, but as there was only 2 of us, this was not a problem as we did not need to use it as we sat on the reasonable, fair sized balcony.
