Marriott Swansea Hotel

we stayed at the marriott hotel for 2 nights on aug the 4th and 5th. we held our wedding at the marriott that weekend and although the wedding was fantastic we did have a few problems with the accomadation for our guests!!!! they double booked over 12 of my rooms and not only that they didnt have a room for my parents to say in after saying they would keep 2 rooms at a discount for the parents. caused a lot of stress for me running up to my big day ....

Stopped over in Swansea on our way to North Wales (on a bit of a road trip over the summer) and stayed in the Marriott overlooking the sea. Standard Marriott stuff I guess, but lovely big, clean, modern room with huge window overlooking the bay and a huge bed! Didn't check out the bar/restaurant as we wanted to explore the area and drove to the nearby Mumbles instead. Great location to explore the area and all staff we encountered were friendly.

Hotel is situated in the Maritime Quarter of Swansea and is right next to the beach. We booked a "family room" which consisted of a room with two double (or could be king sized) beds. The room/bedding was spotless and the beds wonderfully comfortable. We found all staff to be very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a leisure pool and gym. Weren't impressed with this - pool pretty small and the changing areas weren't that special. We would definitely stay at this hotel again - well recommended.

We have just stayed at the Swansea Marriott for 3 nights - the first time for a number of years. It is a very good hotel in an excellent location - right on the sea front next door to Swansea Marina. Its main strength is the friendliness of all its staff - but in particular those at the reception (front desk). I spoke with a number of the advisers, and, without exception, they were all friendly, very helpful, efficient and courteous. We stayed at the Swansea Marriott for a Saturday night during a weekend in Wales. The booking was made on line and originally the hotel was unable to meet all our preferences. However after we received a follow up email and laid out needs we were given a great room on arrival. It was a very comfortable and spacious King Room with a lovely view over the Marina. Even though I don't normally stay in chain hotels, I decided to stay at the Marriott 'cause it seemed like the best solution for sb who doesn't have a car to explore Swansea / Wales (If only Brits didn't drive on the right!) When I arrived, my reservation was surprisingly cancelled (no idea how or why) but they got me immediately a twin with 2 dbl beds. I have stayed here on a couple of occassions and like most Marriott's the liklihood of being dissapointed is low, especially when taking into account spend versus value. Nothing breathtaking about the place, its clean, efficient, everthing works and everyone does what the say they'll do. In other words, you get what says on the tin. I haven't found a better place to stay in Swansea.

Just wanted to let everyone know what a good hotel this is in a perfect location set behind the beach and across the road from the town. The accommodation/food here was every bit as good as the Celtic Manor which weve also stayed at, but alot cheaper and our room was twice the size! Our room was on the 4th floor and on a corner so the room was very large and easily accommodated a king size bed and sofa and lots of other bedroom furniture with lots of room still to move around! I booked a break for me and my husband for a cricket weekend - and stayed at the Marriott - it was good, but not really fabulous. I made a reservation online, and all the options I chose were carried out to the letter: the rooms could do with a refresh, as the decor is looking a little tired, but the room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. This is a hotel on the Marina. Like any other Marriott Hotel. Clean, efficient, good location but rather characterless. If you are in Swansea for business, I would certainly recommend it. Very friendly and helpfull staff - I guess it helps that they were mostly local people.
