Village Inn

have just returned from village inn 16-9-11 and totally agree with previous review with a few comments of my own to add.Be warned if you value your belongings while your in the pool as the woman that collects the glasses feels its her god given right to blatently help herself to your suncream and ciggerettes,we found my wifes top hidden away in the corner after she had done her round.Also our friend had 20 euros taken from her room ,the only person to frequent her room that day was the maid.Wife was told on our last day by the horror from hell woman who served the gruel make sure your out of the room by eleven am on the thurs even though we werent being picked up till 3 am on the friday,even though due to our arrival times they had got a days ai paid for by us so in effect we paid for 7 nights yet recieved only 6.We although was disgusted by their attitude as only ourselves to please couldnt believe they treated a young couple with a young child the same .Family run hotel it may be but thats as far as it goes family oreigntated they are not.If it wasnt the fact that for the nice people we met and the weather being fantastic this would have turned into a holiday from hell.This place needs investigating.DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY.Shop about Zante is nice just give this place a miss

The bad points are ok the walk to the beach can easily take half hour plus in a dead straight line,and the strip 20 mins, food not fantastic but its no a amazing menu its a easy hotel one , your on holiday you want good food go out its no more expensive,
The staff where fine pleasant enough not over barring drinks not bad price, clean rooms , nice pool what more do people want. the locations not great, the food is just ok, but trust me its far better than some hotels in laganas. all this hotel has is bad reviews and it made me worry but its not that bad at all

My friends and I stayed here in September 08 for a week, while the actual room itself was ok there was no way this is a 4* apartment more like a 2*. The staff are rude and unhelpful, the food is shocking. You are not allowed to buy food from the supermarket over the road and eat it buy the pool even though they do not sell snacks other than drinks and ice creams! If you attempt to eat in your appartment - GOOD LUCK there is hardly any cooking untensils and a 2 stove hob which didnt look very safe to use.
The only difference making this 4 star from any other 2 star greek resort I have stayed in is you have a tv!!! But beware that if you want to watch this you must keep flicking up through the channels before you reach 1 or 2 decent english channels.
The sun loungers are actually more comfortable than the beds.... and the bathroom floods far too easy - especially with 3 girls sharing!
You are at least 30 minute walk from the beach and nightlife which isnt too bad to walk down but I recommend a taxi back for 6 euros! We were not allowed into each others apartments after dark and the security guard is obnoxious and even raised his hand to one of the other guest, soon as you step into the appartment grounds he tells you to be silent and go straight to your rooms... so much for holiday spirit.
There is a bigish supermarket quite close to the apartment which is reasonably priced and a few bars on the walk down to the centre which makes the walk a bit more bearable.
Zante itself is a good place and the nightlife even though it was end of season was still quite busy. If you go make sure you visit Relax bar, Pink Panther, Cherry Bay, Rescue and Wakiki, top night spots all of them.
Would recommend zante if you fancy a lot of drinks and a lot of laughs, would definitely NOT recommend village inn apartments
