A surprise family weekend was booked at this hotel, we arrived at the very impressive building with extensive grounds but as soon as we walked inside this very shabby hotel I was disappointed. The carpet was thread bare and taped up in some places, one of the rooms had a slanted bed, we ask and were given a different room. The hotel advertises a snooker room, apparently this has been taken out and a pool table and table tennis have been placed in a very sparse room at the back of the hotel. The swimming pool looked shabby and more like a bomb shelter than a relaxing area.
The accomodation was room only and with all the areas being run down and dirty we did not feel like eating in the hotel and even went out for breakfast, I did not want to even think what the kitchens would be like, if the rooms on view was so dirty.
I would have not recommend this hotel to anyone.
