Where do I start, this hotel is a gem in the Lakes, can’t fault anything about it.
We stayed for 2 nights in May 2006, On are first wedding anniversary. The staff were excellent (check out David in the bar downstairs) he makes you feel at home and is a real character and very funny, he is also an expert on things to do in the lakes.
The location of this hotel is second to none, beautiful views over the river that runs from Lake Windermere.
The leisure complex is clean and first class containing a gym (good selection of equipment) and a very welcoming large pool.
The food in the restaurant is top class, I loved the peppered steak! If you can upgrade to a balcony room the views over the river are stunning. We had a great time in the lakes and the Whitewater hotel put the icing on the cake.

Our stay was memorable. The accommodation was more than comfortable, we had a regular double room. It was emmaculately clean. We chose to eat both nights in the Fisherman's bar, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. There was a good selection of food to choose from. The Cumbrian breakfast in the main restaurant is an absolute must to set you up for the day ahead. We needed a complete break from our work/home life and found it here. The locality of the hotel was perfect for lakeland walks-we did Loughrigg Fell. The weather mid-afternoon was perfect and the scenery absolutely breathtaking. Take the opportunity to walk the strenuous steps to the trig , take in the view of a variety of lakes and be amazed at the wonder of nature. Remember your binoculars for the wild life! Make the most of everything on offer; the pool, sauna, etc are certainately worth a visit. We will definately recommend the hotel to friends and relatives.
