Nice Hotel
Stayed at Days Hotel in Wakefield for three nights on a trip to Yorkshire to visit friends and family. The hotel is well placed right next to the MI (Junction 40) and it is very easy to get to Leeds, Bradford and the towns in the Woollen District (ie Dewsbury, Batley etc). The rooms are well furnished and very clean, comfortable and pleasant. Bearing in mind how close the hotel is to the main road and motorway, the rooms are very quiet. I was expecting to be disturbed by traffic noise but it did not happen. I did not sample the... more
A Pleasant Surprise
Came to visit relatives and found this on Lastminute for £40 per night without breakfast. It is new and very clean with huge kingsize beds and we were not bothered by road noise at all. It is very handy for the motorway. I was expecting to find a basic travellers hotel but it was pleasant and had a bar. I would stay here again.
great place to stay
I recently spent one night at this hotel and really enjoyed my stay there. I booked a double room for two adults and a triple room for one adult and two children the total cost being £83.13 this included a buffet breakfast which was beautifully presented. We did not have dinner here but returned to have a few drinks in the lounge which had a relaxing atmosphere. The staff were helpful in every way, nothing was too much trouble for them. Some of my family joined us for a drink and were also made welcome with no pressure to leave. The bedrooms... more
THE WORLD GO'S HIGH TECH
I stayed there yesterday for the National cross-country championships in Leeds. As soon as we got in. no lights. Remember you have to put the card in a slot while your in. It has a nice lounge and dining room area but i would say the food was just below average. Everything is high-tech REALLY. From the power shower to the soap dispenser. And from the TV to the coffee machine. When you get in bed its morealess impossible to get to sleep with the radiators clicking all the time. You will either have a view of the Motarway slip-road or a view... more
Business...and a pleasure
Stayed there yesterday on business (after all Wakefield's not exactly famous for it's passing tourist trade) and I would happily return. Yes, the hotel is new but it was immaculate and the staff were as friendly as any I have known. Whilst the bathroom was not huge it was spotless - providing that you prefer your power shower to a bath, which I do (no baths but a gloriously large...and hot...and powerful power shower). The bed was huge and very comfy. And even though it's just yards from the motorway junction there was no traffic noise... more
