We really liked this hotel. Generally pretty clean, good size rooms, nice swimming pools, good atmosphere, friendly welcome, good value for money. Would certainly go again. Free wireless internet a real plus. Food not that inspiring but that didnt matter as there's a pretty... more

We have been going to Polis for many years its a lovely place to go to relax and is very different from Paphos, if you like holidays that are laid back then Polis is the place to go. You have a long walk to Polis beach which really when you get there isn't worth the walk(or... more

Very nice small place
We were in Polis for a wedding so we only booked one night. We were actually staying in Paphos. We were pleasantly suprised with the room - it was nicer than the one in Paphos. It had everything we needed and was nice and clean. The manager was lovely, very helpful. A very pleasant stay.
Friendly, Clean and relaxed
We booked into the Mariela for quite literally 24hrs having stayed at Aphrodite Hills for 10 days or so. Having refused to pay over £100 to retain our room for half a day we were just looking for something cheap and cheerful to while away a few hours. We definately got more than we had hoped for; from the exceptionally friendly welcome, big, spotlessly clean room and lovely atmosphere we didn't want to leave and have already made plans to go and stay there for a few days next year.
Great accom
Have stayed at mariela several times over the last few years, Have always found it very clean, snack bar great prices & owners always friendly. If you are looking for a quiet base to enjoy the local sights, go for it!
Wonderful holiday
We had a wonderful four days at the Mariela Hotel in Polis. The owners were friendly and helpful and the rooms spacious and clean. We loved the view and enjoyed being in Polis. We will definitely be going back and would recommend the hotel.
Peaceful, cozy, nice staff, affordable!!!!
We stayed here at the Mariela Hotel for 1 night in Polis, Cyprus. We saw the amazing price on the internet and grabbed it at 20 CYP. What a steal. However, it took us a good long drive from Paphos to get here and we drove at night. I didn't expect that at all. So if you're planning to relax in the quiet hills of Polis near Aphrodite's Bath, then stay here. But if you plan to go down to Paphos where all the action is at, then don't stay here by any means. We thought Polis would not be so far from Paphos. At any rate, the hotel was still very very lovely. It was small, quaint, and very quiet. Actually, it didn't seem very occupied at all, and it was run by a family staff. There was a small pool, and even a little restaurant. The rooms all have kitchenettes, so we cooked ourselves our own breakfast. It is newly renovated, so everything is fairly new and clean. The room we were in seemed like there were new appliances and new furniture. You were supposed to pay for the air conditioner, but they let us have it for free - friendly staff.
Quiet is sometimes lovely
The apartment was clean, bedding and towels changed bi-daily, staff helpful, if you wish for a quiet, very relaxing holiday - here it is! Car hire is a must - visit some of the hilltop villages and sample the food at Imegines at Kathakas - you will not be disappointed.
canny.
we arrived at this hotel about 2.30am as our fllight was delayed by 3 hours, however the owner was there to meet us, despite us being the only guests arriving at that time. He was lovely and provided us with drinks even though the bar was closed. The rooms were immaculate, the pools clean and tidy, and the bar area welcoming. The area of Polis is miles from anywhere so get a hire car! But the neighbouring Latchi was gorgeous, really quiet and chillled on an evening. We would certainly stay at this hotel again, it was a an amazing bargain for such a beautiful family run place!
bored bored bored
i liked the cleanliness of the mariela hotel and i liked the pools but two things spolit my holiday, the staff (bambas, wife and maria) NEVER had a smile on their face apart from when a load of people were leaving! and do you know what time they locked the doors on reception? midnight!!!!! the bars around there and the pool bar actually in the hotel is supposed to be open until at least 1am but we all had to walk round to the back of the hotel, up the stairs into the main block, across the corridor and down the lift just to get into reception and then from there find some way of gettin to your apartment! i also didnt like the location of the hotel as it is MILES away from the hotel and in the middle of nowhere. overall it was an enjoyable holiday and i will be going back to polis but DEFINATELY NOT back to the mariela hotel!
great hotel
we spent a really nice time in this hotel, the owners r very friendly, its clean and cheap, i think is a very good option if u r thinking to go to cyprus!
What a brilliant Hotel to stay in!!
Ive recently come back from staying at the Mariela hotel in Polis, Cyprus and to be honest i thought it was brilliant, very clean, it fact our room was cleaned every day, its a family run business and they are all so lovely, when we arrived we had a slice of cake and a drink to welcome us. There are two swimming pools on the premises, pool table, arcade machines and most importantly two bars. They also offer a bar/snack menu which is both yummy and very well priced, and looking at the other apartments in the area, this one looked the best, its off the main road, and the family also own and clothes shop and there version of our pound store which are located either side of the apartments. If i go back to Cyprus again, i will definutley be staying there.
