Where to start they lost our booking the shower was great if you like it lukewarm, with the shower curtain stuck to you back because of a disabled hand rail restricting the size. It took three phone calls and 2 hours for room service to bring a bucket of ice to the room.... more

A wonderful hotel in a wonderful setting. There are 3 restaurants in the hotel and one, where breakfast is served, overlooks the harbour, it is really beautiful. The hotel is ideally situated for browsing the shops and visiting the local bars and restaurants as the main... more

Fantastic Pomme
My husband and I stayed overnight at the Pomme d'Or, and had requested a premier room overlooking the harbour and sure enough, that is what we got! Premier room is a good description, as is Harbour View. It fulfilled both criteria. The room was spacious, well decorated and very comfortable. The seating area was up one step, and included a desk and internet connection. Double windows prevented any noise from filtering through from what is a busy road area below. (It's a very central hotel) We ate in the Petite Pomme restaurant in the hotel - presented for Valentines weekend, and very romantic. (Champagne and an oyster on arrival!) The staff were fantastic - not "in your face", but there at the exact moment you needed them. The food was delicious - a set menu for Valentines, but we have eaten here before and the quality was good then too. Breakfast was a full buffet and/or cooked english. Everything you could want and more. Quality again excellent. Overall - 5 star treatment and quality. Couldn't have wanted more.
First Class Hotel
A very impressive hotel! From the moment I arrived the staff were amazing. They took our luggage directly from our taxi and then up to our hotel room. The hotel lobby was very modern and spotless, as was our room. The front desk and cafe bar staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food at the hotel was also excellent. The hotel is well located. I can highly recommend this hotel and will definately stay there on my next trip.
Finally a decent hotel in St Helier
Read what the other reviewers have talked about the refit of the hotel. It's true. Our bathroom was enormous and had a huge walk in shower one would love to take home with you. Service with staff who are English and speak English, not like most of the other hotels in Jersey which are packed out with Poles. Clean rooms, the breakfast is good and the dinner buffets are wonderful. Do book a room on the front; it's worth the extra money and the road outside isn't noisy (not half as noisy as the road outside the Grand). After many disappointments in St Helier, after the refit, there is finally a hotel which stops me from staying at Longueville Manor (which is gorgeous, but miles out). Don't stay at the Grand or anywhere else, stay here
Excellent Hotel
We stayed for two nights as part of our honeymoon. The hotel was clean and bright and the room was wonderful with a seperate seating area from the bedroom. the bathroom had a wonderful powershower seperate from the bath and speakers from the tv in there too. i would recomend going for the carvery in one of its 3 restaurants but beware, book this in advance as it is very popular. staff were the old fashioned genteel waiter types that were used to giving a service fit for royalty. i would visit again for a special occasion
Excellent for Business!
Excellent hotel in prime location - walking distance to great shopping, restaurants and business center. Staff was very friendly and accomodating. Wifi access in the lobby area and an excellent buffet breakfast. The rooms are small, but clean and well appointed. As the manager previously pointed out, this hotel provides prime access to the center of the city - for a more resorty or tranquil experience, you are better off with one of the other hotels along the coast.
Impressed
Excellent hotel in prime position.Reception staff exceptionally helpful-all other staff very professional. Rooms clean and well decorated/furnished. Minor criticism - why tinned fruit (e.g apricots; grapefruit; mushrooms) at breakfast?
Great Hotel
This is the third time we have stayed at the Pomme, and it seems to be going from strength to strength, with their recent upgrade to a 4 star which is well deserved. As ever have found all the staff very helpful, and polite. i.e. Just happened to ask reception what the weather was going to be like the following day as I was Playing golf, and she got all the info on the computer for us. Recommend the friday fish night, for value for money, with a great pianist playing in the background. Also make time for afternoon tea in the revamped coffee bar. We will be back!
top quality pomme d'or
Stayed in this hotel for a 3 night including weekend break, staff very friendly and helpful, apparently hotel has been refurbished rooms were excellent with modern fittings and spotlessly clean. Restaurant excellent, buffet breakfast superb, took up option for evening meal with all you could eat seafood buffet again quality and quantity superb. Lobby bar and cafe bar again friendly staff drinks reasonably priced. Would recommend this hotel to all friends and colleagues
Are there two Pomme D'Or hotels !
Reading the other reviews of this hotel I can't believe we stayed at the same place. Our room was at the back and we were kept awake for the Sat and Sun nights that we stayed there by the noisy nightclub. We also had to unload and re-load our suitcases from our hire car when we arrived and when we left with no assistance. Even more disappointing as one of us was disabled. It was also inconvenient having a car as there was no car park and we had to leave it in a public car park over night. We dined in the hotel the first night and had very poor service though this could be because we were two women as the couple on the table next to us fared much better. We shall not return.
Management response from Pommedor 15 Oct 2005

We very much appreciate any and all feedback from guests as it assists us in determining how we are meeting their expectations and whether we are achieving the high levels of service to which we aspire. I am therefore most grateful for these observations and offer my personal apologies for not meeting the expectations at every level. I am pleased to advise that appropriate actions have been taken to ensure that the specific areas of concern directly related to services provided by the Hotel have been positively addressed. Whilst I fully acknowledge that none of the points raised in connection with the services provided by the Hotel should have occurred I do believe that any disappointment could have been avoided if they had been brought to the attention of myself or one of my members of staff at the time when we may have been able to attend to matters immediately. With regard to the comments of disturbances emanating from a noisy nightclub at the back of the Hotel I can advise that these have been passed to the local authority for further and more formal action. Again, I am grateful that the matter has been brought to our attention as, even though the Hotel’s bedrooms are fitted with sound-proofed double glazing and air-conditioning, this noise disturbance is probably in contravention of the local licensing law and will require to be dealt with accordingly. I respectfully note that the reason provided to Tripadvisor for this visit to the Island was for an ‘out-of-town getaway’. In fairness, one of the primary reasons for guests choosing the Pomme d’Or Hotel for a short break is due to its location in the centre of St.Helier, close to the main shopping areas and a wide variety of restaurants, bars and other entertainment. Had we been aware of the reason for the visit, we could have suggested that another of our Hotels, the Portelet Hotel in St Brelade, situated in tranquil surroundings offering both coastal and countryside views, may have better suited. I would welcome the opportunity to demonstrate to all visitors to Jersey that the services offered by the Pomme d’Or Hotel are worthy of it’s four star rating and it jealousy guards its reputation for offering the highest standards of guest service and care.

Very clean, great service, good food
I thouroughly enjoyed my stay at the Pomme D'Or - it is in a very central location for the shops and restaurants of St Helier and the hotel itself is very clean. The staff were helpful and polite, and the food in both restaurants was of a very high standard as well as being value for money. The only slight nuisance is parking as the hotel doesn't have its own car park - we found the Esplanade car park to be the most convenient, scratch cards for parking can be purchased from the hotel shop. Definitely recommended!
