" My Mother and I decided to visit the... "

My Mother and I decided to visit the lovely Channel Islands again travelling from Manchester England, flying to Jersey, which took about an hour to get there and we booked our holiday at Metropole Hotel in St Helier Jersey.

Metropole has recently been refurbished etc and we were very pleased with our lovely very quiet room overlooking the poolside, and we had a lovely bathroom with large shower cubicle and comfortable beds and were very pleased with our room and the hotel we chose.

The breakfasts were very varied with plenty to chose from. Cereals / grapefruit/ prunes/Croissants and Ham and Cheese as well as fruit juices and toast and jams and then the choice of a large fried breakfast with black pudding or eggs (scrambled, poached, boiled, eggs on toast and coffee or tea to follow) and the four course dinners were good too.

We enjoyed the indoor pool, sauna, jacuzzi and cafeteria but as it was cold some days in June 1st week of 2007, we did not use outdoor pool or gymnasium or games room which had a cinema, table tennis fruit machines etc etc and mini football game and we believe there is a children’s playroom.

All in all our holiday was good and the standard of the hotel very good/clean and staff waiters, Octavia and co were very hard working and helpful to us throughout our stay.

We will definitely recommend this hotel to everyone plus there were two bars, nightly entertainment as well as quizzes etc and coach trips out to the Durrell conservation centre as well as tours of the island and trips to Guernsey, The Glass Church and The Underground Hospital world war 2 memorabilia and other daily trips out on coaches from hotel.
