Marques De Pombal Hotel

Booked to stay here for New year until 3rd Very handy for city centre and the eating area of the city. Free internet in all rooms free Gym. Food of a good standard. Hotel staff very helpful and friendly

Myself and a group of friends have just returned from a most enjoyable weekend in Lisbon we stayed at the Marques De Pombal and a most enjoyable stay it was. The location was excellent no matter if we walked or used the efficient transport system the staff were friendly and helpful,the hotel spotless and the amenities good, we would definitely reccomend the city and hotel,Lisbon is quite reasonably priced for a capital city and we would certainly return to enjoy a lot more

One night stay, but everything was excellent. Room clean and smelled nice, bed firm and comfortable, free internet, comprehensive breakfast, discreet staff, lovely view down the Avenue to the castle, all great.

The hotel is in a great location within a 10 minute walk to the City Centre, or, alternatively, on the underground stop. At first, they checked me into a first level room looking towards the inner courtyard- this means virtually no light and some noise from the machinery. Having found this hotel through Hotelclub.com this was a fantastic find. A 15 minute walk away from the downtown Baixa area, this hotel offered comfortable clean rooms and a great friendly service. We arrived to a gorgeous room, chocs on pillows, champagne on ice, and choc cake all complimentary, as well as slippers and a gown. Can't fault this at all. This hotel is located right next to the metro station, only 3 stops away from the very center of the city. The boulevard the hotel is located on is very picturesque so you get all the positives from the location. We were just 2 of us so space was not an issue. The room was great, modern, well equipped, the bathroom is good size, very nicely done. Our rate included breakfast. First morning we were late but were still treated great. We stayed at the hotel for six nights in July as a couple with a four year old child. Check in was quick and efficient. We were given a city map without asking and some basic information about the hotel's location and breakfast etc. The room on the 7th floor was large for a city hotel and our third bed was already set up prior to arrival - we were allowed in at 11am. The room overlooked the Avenida da Liberdade, which gave us a pleasant view and hardly any noise. The twin beds were comfortable though slightly on the firm side for my taste.... more

My wife and I stayed at the hotel for four nights at the beginning of July 2007. The hotel itself was everything we could have hoped for - clean, friendly staff, nice room - big enough for a city break - and a relaxed bar for a nightcap. Inside the room is a minibar safe hairdryer along with a tv and cd player. Rooms were cleaned to a very good standard each day and there was no problem accessing extra towels if they were required. Just returned from a 3 night stay at this hotel, booked on the recommendations of this website (which I would never travel without consulting!) Hotel is very near Marques de Pombal Metro station - I recommend getting a Lisbon card. We had one for 72 hrs, which gave us free trips on all transportation - including the old trams. The hotel is ideally situated - on the main Avenue! 20 m from the metro stop Marques de Pombal - you can walk down the road to all the touristy attarctions. Basic double room with ensuite shower - bath tub is 1/2 the size of a normal one. You pay extra for the sauna and swedish bath - gym is free. There is no pool. Breakfast is a hot buffet - very good. Overall quite basic - I would have rather paid less for the same standard of hotel. Nothin spectacular - like a 3 star hotel in Dubai.
