The hotel is indeed only a few minutes from the "main drag" however it's the low-rent end and is 15 minute brisk walk from the centre of the city. In April this can be a very cold 15 minutes. For this reason we only rate it a "7".
The hotel itself is modern, clean and the continental breakfast is quite acceptable.
Not all the rooms have a partial view of the fjord (with its migrating Norwegian Blue parrots).
The hotel has a good car park and is seconds away from one of the cities dual-carriageways and an adjacent 24 hour supermarket.
All tours can be arranged from Reception and pick-up-buses are de rigeur for all hotels in the city.
Travellers-cheques are ONLY cashed at banks however there is a bank only 2 blocks away.
