So after reading reviews here and on other sites a week before our departue i wanted to cancel this holiday. Now we are home i am so glad we didnt.
So the food is 'different' you are in a foreign country WHAT do you expect seriously ??? We always managed to find something which was edible, and as for cold food, i bet you left your meals until 8:50, as we had HOT food each and everytime we ate.
I read some people found the staff to be rude, i never encountered or thought this during our 2 week stay, ok so the barman was not the happiest person ever but what do you expect when the poor guy is stood there from 10am until 11pm without a reasonable break.
Our room was comfortable and clean, on the downside the sheets/towels were changed every 4 days which i think could of been every 2 at a push, but didnt matter as we brought our own towels as i prefer them.
All in all our stay was brilliant, could of been a little more for the children but our son was quite happy talking to the other children and everyone else whilst we were there.
We met some wonderful people

my wife, daughter and i, have just got back from 2 weeks all inclusive at this hotel, on arrival, we were allocated our rooms, 2+1, [ha ha] two beds and a armchair made into a bed,[only in bulgaria], the food was never warm,catered more for the eastern european, {cold meats, sausages,] never had a warm meal in 2 weeks. if your not botherd about eating, drinking, then this hotel is ideal, right in the middle of all thats going on.[pubs, restaurants, clubs]although you wont hear them.The fat cat [200m away] or the rsd lion [500m away] all good imataion english pubs,The people are friendly, the weathers great,would go back to bulgaria,{if i had to serve a two year stretch], seriously go, enjoy, but dont expect to much. if you meet as many nice families[ FLEETWOOD MOB, BENWELL MOB, JONNY+HEATHER, NEIL, AND THE CARDIFF MOB] then you will make friends for life, so it will be woth it.If i had to go back would be sunny beach, but a diffrent hotel, hope i havent put anybody off, just go and find out for yourself.[ oh and by the way, take plenty of english £s, you will get a better rate].

Me and my boyfriend got back yesturday from a 2 week stay. We liked the hotel.Room had air con and a T.V. Cleaners were good and very friendly. Staff are great and i really liked the Lobby bar man (Jacob)! I had one problem with a miserable women on reception who couldn't be bothered making the effort to help us! She was always moody and wasn't happy answering our questions. She was so rude by ignoring us one time she made us miss our welcome meeting because she couldn't be bothered explaining where the 'Fat Cat' was (Place to meet the rep.)
I was halfway through asking her where it was and she said 'JUST SIT' so we waited and waited for half an hour untill i asked her again and then she said 'Don't know'
STUPID WOMEN!!!!! Her reply also was 'NO' alot. I couldn't stand her.

Anyway i really did like the hotel although i wasn't keen on the breakfast. They served biscuits and pasta on a morning which i didn't fancy eating!!!! I could only eat the fruit and yogurt as the beans were hard and cold and the sausages were hotdog sausages so not a good choice at all.

Selfish people reserve sunbeds on a night and then never return. They go off for days and keep them reserved so other people who are actually wanting to use them can't. At one point there was 6 sunbeds taken up with towels and i had to sit on the floor on my towel. These people never came back round the pool so i missed out. Other residents got so annoyed they threw towels in the pool which i don't blame them for doing!
I would say if your between 18-30 this is the hotel for you as your surrounded by night life and lots of noise in the early hours so don't take kids. We loved Sunny Beach and recommend the Fat Cat to eat, drink and join in with Bingo which i won 6 bottles of booze. Staff are great, food lovely and very cheap.

i have just returned from a 2 week break at this resot JUNE 2010 first i have to say the staff are the best and most friendly people i have ever met. they were great with my 2 young children and went out of their way to make a fuss of the children.the pool was nice and clean spacious rooms now for the downside the FOOD is the worst i have ever eaten most of which i wouldnt have given to my dog, let alone my children all food was luke warm and some of which wasnt even cooked ie pink chicken we ate the same dishes over and over again over the 2 week period. in 2 weeks we only had clean towels 3 times and our beds were only changed once in 2 weeks !! not acceptable if you ask me. would go back but not on an all inclusive basis room only would have been better

we have been to hotel regina two years in a row ! 2oo8 was absoloutley AMAZING no problems atall!! staff were great and really friendly they were like a second family always helpful and friendly. however when we went back 2009 it wasnt as good the staff were young eagre party lovers and often closed the bar early to get to the dancings and bars which were near by. some of them were pretty rude but we knew most people as of the previous year ! sunny beach is a great party holiday we absoloutley love it !! however maybe try hotel oasis or glarus !

This has got to be the worst hotel to stay in,staff very rude to the English
however very polite if you are German,which the hotel was full of,
room was awful very dark did manage to get it changed,the pool was dirty and
cold as the pump was broke for a week, charged you for sunbeds cost more if you are English,on two occasions the power went off right when you were getting ready
to go out for the evening, never touched the food as didn`t appear fresh,very
noisey from nearby night club which ends at 6am.
if you stayed in a hotel were you are made welcome and get what you paid for then
in every other way Bulgaria is a lovely place withe plenty going on.
would i ever go back? not even if it was free...

Dont stay here. I came back about 2 weeks ago. I am trying to get a refund. The staff a rude. The place is filthy and the pool is so discusting its beyond belief. For some reason they charge the Englsih doulbe for everything including the sunbeds round the hotel pool and have no reason for this other than because we were English. We asked the manager ourselves and that was her response while laughing in our faces. There were ants and fleas in our bathroom. The place stinks of sewage. Its noisy all the way through the night with staff constantly slamming doors. We didnt get a hello off the staff once in the intire week we were there. I was actually counting down the days until i could go home! They play music with swear words and strong sexual references all day by the pool so no place for children. If you do stay there watch the towels the maids sometimes take them and you end up being charged. Also check ur aircon as soon as you get there they keep the remotes in reception in a silly attempt to save money while their guests roast. The food was foul and what little was there was aimed at the German market nothing for English at all. The fruit was rotten and everything else was cold and over cooked. We both ended up with upset stomachs which we can only imagine came from there as we were very careful about ice etc.

really enjoyed our stay here excellent position its close to all amenities and very close to beach but just enough away so that your not disturbed by all the noise of all the passes by. rooms are alwys clean and the staff very helpfull and friendly. would recomend were all going again this year 13 of us this time.its also very child friendly with a nice childrens pool seperated from the main pool
