Killarney Park Hotel

I have to say that out of all the hotels i've stayed in over the years, both in ireland and abroad, the Killarney Plaza has to be my favourite. I have stayed in Sheraton, Hilton, Sofitel, Tulip, etc. but none compare to the plaza. I have stayed there three times in the last two years and have never had a bad experience. And today i have booked a special offer to go back there this month for my birthday. 159 euro for 2 nights b&b and 1 evening meal!!! BARGAIN. Great location near clubs and restaurants. Hotel was a pleasure with stunning lobby. Wonderful linens and attractive furnishings in the rooms. The restaurants and clubs were really enjoyable. Of all of the breakfast buffets that we had on our trip, this was the best. We couldn't have asked for anything else, served in a lovely dining room. Our stay at the Killarney Plaza was great. It was the best hotel on our tour. Rooms were spacious and quiet, actually had a queen bed along with a twin, and best of all temperature control! We hit a warm, sunny period in Ireland with temperatures in the 60s and 70s so the A/C was really appreciated. Our other hotels were stiffling. Well located right in town, easy to walk around, restaurants available. The jaunting carts were fun to ride through the park. Busy touristy city but enjoyed it and the lovely scenery in the area.

I stayed at this hotel over Easter (same time as last reviewer) I experienced no queues at breakfast and our room was absolutely gorgeous. Food was fantastic (but book restaurant in advance of stay as gets busy) It was the little touches I loved - the bathrobes, the slippers, the bottled water, the heated mirror, the turndown service, the icemachine etc etc. On arrival there was a chocolate Easter bunny in a large fancy basket as a present baked by the chef - lovely. Staff not very helpful, but worst part was the room/broom closet with no view. Had to move chair to place clothes in the small drawer available for storage. Probably the worst view in Killarney as it had small window that overlooks a green dome that blocked view of street. Overall, hotel interiors are nice, the room was the main negative to the experience. I do not expect a big room when staying in Ireland but this was taking cozy to the extreme. Stayed here for a weekend. Its an amazing stylish hotel with everything you could want. The food is gorgeous and there is so much choice. Rooms are lovely and spacious. Staff are very pleasant and helpful and are always happy to help with anything you would need. The location is perfect that you would never believe this Hotel could be so central. When you walk out of the Hotel you are just off the Main Street. The Cafe du parc bar is really trendy and lively for a drink or else a relaxing drink in the Piano bar.
