Westminster Hotel

The Hotel Westminster Concorde was a great choice. Like many others have noted, the common areas are shabby and need to be updated, however. I booked a superior room that had either a city or sea view. Luckily, upon check-in the hotel gave me a sea view room that was renovated only 1 month prior to my arrival. Having read the mixed reviews on trip advisor, I was a little apprehensive about the hotel, as I do enjoy a quality 4 star as a minimum. When we first arrived, I could immediately see why a few people mentioned that the hotel appeared 'tired'. This opinion changed significantly during our stay. Just back from another great stay at this hotel. I love the location, on the Promenade, as I cannot walk far and I enjoy the beach clubs over the road. The rooms have high ceilings and the balconies are fab. Room service breakfast was very good and the simple croissant/coffee one inexpensive. Getting to the hotel is very easy as the airport bus stops across the road. It's a great base for Nice and the view from sea-facing rooms worth the price.

Stayed recently (Late June 2007) at this hotel and have to say we liked it alot. The reception and interior reflect a faded past. However the rooms are great. We had a superior room on the second floor at the side of the hotel, which had been renovated compared to the rest of the hotel (See the attached photos). We were a party of three women and found it difficult to book a room with a balcony and view and have three separate beds. However, lots of internet study (and Trip Advisor help) brought us to the Westminster Hotel. In order to get 3 separate beds we had to take 2 rooms, but there was a connecting door (rooms 515 and 514), and so it worked very well for us. Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. First impression was not good. They gave us a room on the third floor. Rooms were outdated, definitely well worn and the beds were hard. I asked for another better room. Come to find out that they are renovating this hotel. The rooms on the first and second floors were recently renovated. They changed our room to one on the 2nd floor overlooking the ocean. The room and beds were a humdred times better. I do not think they changed the windowns and you could here the loud traffic noise--if this bothers... more

The hotel was nice. My family was staying in two rooms and my room was at least a foot and half shorter than theirs. It was a little difficult to go from one side of the room to the other using the passage between the bed and the desk. Our view was amazing though. It was a little too old for me but all together it was a pretty good hotel. The staff was very friendly and it was nice that we had breakfast included. The location was also amazing!

We decided to stay in Nice only a couple of days before. All the obvious choice hotels were fully booked. On our budget I was left with a choice of the Radisson, Goldstar and Westminster. I felt this hotel had the best location but I was expecting a room that was probably going to be slightly dated. yes, the public areas have a slighted shabby elegance but the rooms are spacious, the view/location can't be beaten and the staff are wonderful. For the second year running we received the warmest welcome ever received from any hotel reception. The breakfast is also really good and is taken in a really characterful room. I've no doubt we will return. Nice is fabulous and our stay here can't be faulted.

Unbeatable for location, right on the Promenade des Anglais and a very short walk away from the shops, restaurants and casinos. We arrived from Nice airport by taxi which was conveniently only 10 minutes away. This is an old, traditional hotel with traditional standards of good service. It has a faded, colonial charm about it. Fabulous bathrooms but the bedrooms, although spotlessly clean and comfortable, were tired and in need of a little modernisation.
