Harrogate Moat House Hotel

We have just returned from a weekend at the Holiday Inn at Harrogate. We couldn't have hoped for a better place to stay - from the location of the hotel, to the decor and atmosphere, to the service and attention given by the very pleasant and professional staff. Clueless staff who put us in the wrong room to begin with - then insisted we moved - with the absolute minimum of politeness. The bar attracted a chavvy clientlete later on. Harrogate's a nice town, know it well, but what an awful place. Avoid.

I stayed at this hotel whilst away on business back in January 2006. I must say that the location of this hotel is just fantastic, right in the centre of Harrogate with all the shops and restaurants right on your door step! The rooms are what you would expect from a holiday inn, spotlessly clean and modern and the room service is speedy and good. The hotel is well located in town and right next door to the conference centre. Clean, efficient and friendly We booked via the internet site and it appears that it missed the fact that we were a family of 5 before allocating a room and rate (I have the booking confirmation confirming I entered the details correctly!!!). Anyway - we were allocated a room that patently wasn't big enough in terms of size or beds to accommodate us. We got a rate of £51 per room at the Holiday Inn and had an excellent experience. It is in the centre of harrogate and our large, clean and comfortable room on the 11th floor had lovely views over Harrogate and beyond into the Dales.

We stayed here for one night and were really impressed. Price wise in comparison with neighbouring hotels Holiday Inn is truly excellent value. The room was spotless, all new fittings and fixtures, staff very helpful and the breakfast was delicious. Would definitely return as it makes such a nice change to get more for your money rather than less.

Very helpful friendly staff. The rooms were clean and recently furnished - the bathrooms were great - very clean and freshly renovated. Recommended.

A truly excellent hotel - we stayed here in 2004 when it was still a dated and stale Moat House. What an amazing improvement! The whole interior has been gutted and re-styled the modern and slightly minimalist Holiday Inn branding. Extremely friendly staff upgraded us to an executive room as there were plenty available. The Moat House Hotel Harrogate is now a Holiday Inn and what a change, lifts that work, pleasant reception staff, a complete room renovation from top to bottom and a restaurant that is properly run. Well done Holiday Inn that was a pleasant surprise and I hope it stays that way. This hotel is in the middle of Yorkshire a really nice Victorian town, not far from Herriot Country, The Brontes and of course York.

My husband & I stayed for 2 nights and found the hotel was lovely. The bedroom was lovely, fresh and clean and the staff were very nice. The breakfast was lovely too. I would defenitely recommened this hotel for your stay in Harrogate.
