I am writing about the camping facilities at Rudding Park, the facilities themselves were very good but the real reason I am writing a review is because that I have just come back from a three night stay on the campsite and have had to cut it short.
It began with a crowd of mums and dads, with children of different ages setting up four or five tents surrounding ours. One of the mothers seemed a bit loud to begin with but we were used to groups having a laugh and a drink as we have been camping for years.
Usually if you asked people to be quiet after a certain time usually in my experience people are quite obliging. But these mums and dads were in a league of there own they bullied and intimidated me when I asked them to calm it down a bit, despite the fact that I told them I had a two year old with me. We suffered appalling language, extremely loud and loutish behaviour.
The worst of came when I could hear them threatening to urinate on my dog and playing graphic sexual inuendo's on they mobile phones in the tent next to where my daughter was trying to sleep. The campsite doesn't seem to have any ground rules about preventing this kind of behaviour and making the campsite feel safe when your taking children.
When I enquired the next day about they said that they had 24 hour security but I never saw them and I certainly didn't see them asking these people to tone the noise down a bit. Apparently there is an emergency phone number but this would have just made things a lot worse for as these people would have known that we had rung and god knows what would have happened then.
This I think is just as appalling. I feel that it is the campsite owners to prevent this happening in the first place by applying some rules. If you go to Rudding park campsite and end up next to louts take it from me you’re on your own regardless of whether you have children or not because Rudding Park didn't seem that interested that I had had a night of hell.

My fiancé took me to this hotel for my birthday. We only stayed for one night but it felt longer and we enjoyed every minute.
We were met as we approached the hotel entrance by a very polite and friendly concierge who came to us and took our bags to our room.
The room was lovely, very spacious, overlooking beautiful grounds. Very modern, excellent condition. Molton Brown products in the bathroom for men and women and fluffy towelling robes.
The hotel itself was also very modern. A dimly lit dining room with a great ambience and a conservatory restaurant area.
The food was divine and the service in general very very good. There was one period however where another large table caused a problem with an order and all the staff became engrossed in the situation and it was very visible.
We were left with our dessert menus and empty glasses for over 15 minutes. This didn't spoil it though; it was actually entertaining to watch!
My only comment was that there weren't many cosy areas to relax in and I think a spa or pool area would truly complement what is a beautiful hotel.
All in all though, a fantastic visit and would truly recommend.
