Just returned from a three night break, staying at this hotel. Could not fault it. Reception staff very helpful, very clean. Room was at the front of the hotel and the only noise we heard after 10pm at night was at 7.00am when the church bells rang, they then rang again at... more

This hotel is one of the best I have stayed in. Although it was small it was very quant. The rooms were very clean and you got a good breakfast. It had a great location next to the train station. I would highly recommend this to couples who are visiting Venice for a mini... more

Great value and location
If you are arriving by train you can not beat the location. Its less than a 5 min walk to the hotel. Its clean and well furnished and a great value. The Vaparrato stop is 2 minutes away and there returants within minutes. We recommend this hotel to any familty traveling on a budget looking for clean, safe and friendly hotel.
Great Value
We stayed here 1 night in April 2006. The room was clean with modern bathroom. Breakfast was available in the room for no extra charge, which was a nice touch. Breakfast typical in Italy, but satisfying. Extremely convenient location if arriving by train. Five minute walk from station. Also close to the Water taxi. Staff was very helpful with restaurant advice. IF there was any issue, the Church bells are a loud and long wake up call. It did not bother us, but some might be annoyed.
Excellent value
Hotel is situated in a quiet street in the Cannereggio district and only a few minutes walk from restaurants, cafes and the railway station. The rooms are nicely decorated and spotlessly clean and considering the price we payed proved excellent value. Will definitely stay at this hotel in the future.
A little gem
spotlessly clean, great location, very reasonable for Venice, lovely staff and the most beautiful city in the World. What more could you want!?
The Best Deal in Town
This hotel is as special as they come. Our first visit was in 2000 and we have been back 3 times since. We found it accidentally, as we searched for an alternative to our reserved hotel. We had spent our first night in Venice swatting at mosquitos, so to find a hotel with window screens was a dream come true. As for elevators, there are only 5 of them in the entire city, so we were not disappointed at having to walk stairs to our room. On our second stay I arrived with the flu and also needed a dentist. What is normally every tourist's nightmare was quickly resolved by Pietro. On very short notice he contacted a doctor willing to come to the hotel, and also arranged a dental appointment for me with his family dentist. If that weren't enough, his father Renato met me at the vaporetto stop and led me through a maze of small streets to the dental office, then acted as interpreter. During ur October 2005 trip we ended up needing 4 rooms for friends and family. Everyone was delighted and extremely satisfied with their rooms and the service. The proximity to the train station made it very convenient for everyone to find. Breakfasts can be taken in your room if you like. Oh, and the price...cheaper than the hotel with the mosquitos! A real bargain for Venice.
Fantastic Stay!
We stayed at this hotel between 24th-28th Dec for the Christmas holiday. What attracted us first was the good price we were offered after a lot of research on the internet. Reading the reviews on this site and others was also encouraging. Based on that we placed our booking with big hopes as that was to be our first time in Venice. We weren’t disappointed. Locanda di Orsaria is spotless, pleasant hotel. It is in the hustly bustly part of Venice with the best night life, shops and bars, which was spot on for us. The rooms are nicely decorated and constantly clean. Breakfasts were great & cappuccino is fantastic. The staff were extremely nice to us, showed excellent customer service & helpfulness at all times and offered us advice about transport and restaurants and thanks to their advice we had the best pizza ever (Thanks Pietro!). Everyone gave us the feeling that we are at home. I can carry on writing a whole article about this pleasant hotel but feel it is enough say that if we return to Venice we would definitely stay there again. Thanks for everyone at Locanda di Orsaria for a wonderful stay. We can not recommend you enough.
Convenient location, nice accommodation
We were looking for accomadation less than one month before arrival, which is short notice for Venice. Every place we checked that were in our price range in Trip Advisor were booked. We booked the La Locanda Orsaria via the Kele E Teo agency by email,I don't know what their commission was, but it seem lower than some of the on-line booking portals. We paid 290 Euro for two nights, which seems high to me, but was about par for Venice 3 star places at the time. The room was nice, bigger than usual for Italy, with a small but modern included bathroom. The location was a couple blocks down from the Termini, and about a 10 minute walk from the bus station. The staff spoke good english, and was generally helpful, although we didn't ask for much. The included breakfast was a little skimpy for this price range, with canned fruit cocktail being the breakfast fruit. Our room was on the front side of the Laconda, which meant we heard the noise from the walkway, but that faded later in the evening. We didn't use the AC, preferring to have the windows open, but it was considerably quieter with the windows closed. There was convenient local restaurants and shopping within 5 or 10 minute walk, in the direction away from the train station, and then left down a large canal. We bought some camera memory, and also downloaded our camera to CD at a shop in the area for 4 euro. We recommend the La Locanda Orsaria, however next time we hope to book much further out in order to get a lower price somewhere.
Perfection!
We stayed at this little inn for four nights in a triple room in early November and read all the previous reviews for this hotel before travelling. They all sum the place perfectly and I can think of nothing negative to say about this hotel at all. Indeed, I think that the title to my review describes this place exactly. It really is a little bit of heaven situated, very conveniently, in what must be one of the most fascinating cities on earth. The rooms are fine, the breakfasts excellent and, most importantly, you will be staying with some of the nicest people that you could ever ask to meet. The staff are all lovely, without exception. It also happens to be very reasonably priced, but I would have been happy to pay much, much more to stay at this place. So if you are going to Venice for a few days, or even longer, give this little establishment some thought. You would be struggling to find a better place - anywhere and at any price!
Clean and simple in Venice!
We spent 2 nights at the Locanda Di Orsaria in May 2005. We reserved a quad room and we got a double bed, single bed and a fold out cot in the room. The room was on the second floor, no lift and they have automatic timers on the lights in the hallway. The room was clean, fair sized and smelled good. The bathroom was pretty small; small enclosed shower, toilet, bidet and the hair dryer is USELESS, bring your own! The check in staff was nice, 2 young girls that spoke some basic English and tried to help out anyway they could. I bought an Italy sim chip for my phone and all the setup instructions on the phone were in Italian so they helped setup my phone and switch future information to English. This hotel has a small pay per use internet PC but it is only open from 8am – 8pm, no exceptions, WTF???? I didn’t see why you couldn’t use the internet at night, I never made it back to the hotel until after 9pm every night. They have a few tables in the lobby for breakfast but espresso is only served during morning hours. This hotel is located down a side street alley not too far from the train station. There was no view from the window, you looked at the building next door. Overall I would stay here again, we paid 180 euro for a quad room (90 euro per couple) It was a clean and simple hotel, nothing fancy… just a place to sleep and shower.
Great find in Venice!
We stayed at Locanda di Orsaria for 3 nights in July and loved it! The staff was so welcoming and accomodating. It was during the Rendetore festival and they steered us in the right direction to avoid the main tourist traps. Breakfast in the am was lovely and the hosts go out of their way to make you feel welcome. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to anyone looking for a quaint, clean and decent location in Venice... Our room was small but we expected it and no elevator so might be tough for elderly...
