I Loved this hotel!
it was absolutly brilliant. The children loved it and the staff were very friendly and the entertainment!..WOW!!
Bus right outside for Port Aventura etc!. In the middle of the town and everything where all the good shops are!. The food was good and there were many restuarants nearby that were exceptional!

The staff here were very delightful! They would help us carry our bags around and the night life within the hotel was really good with the staff starring in shows and getting the people staying within the hotel up and dancing.
Very recommended for people with kids with 2 pools a kids pool and a larger/deeper pool beside it with lots of space for sunbathing.

Far from clean, the International was a very average hotel; you know what you’re getting. The amount of Irish and Scousers there is enough to put anyone off, but stay away from the bars and you will be fine.
The hotel itself is ok enough, as before - its not really clean, but I wouldn’t say its bad enough to affect your holiday, after all a hotel isn’t for staying in all day if you are a normal person. Being self catering, we only tried the food there once, that was a breakfast, it was ok, not great, but it filled the family up anyway.
The noise from the entertainment is no problem at all and the whole family had no trouble with that, but the walls are paper thin, and the idiots who walk down the corridor at nights needed a good slap.
I would not recommend this holiday to people who dislike the Irish or scousers, but if you’re looking for a good and cheap place to sleep and easy access to the beach and main straight of Salou, this hotel is for you.

We booked this as a last minute and went with an open mind even though reading some of the reports on this page, left us feeling a wee bit apprehensive.
On arrival, reception area nice, staff pleasant enough, paid a 60euros deposit, given our key, then we got to our apartment.
Well, where does one start. What a pigsty; the bathroom was filthy, the shower curtain was filthy, the bottom of the toilet bowl had not seen a brush and bleach since the year dot. We tried our best to clean this and got a slight improvement on it. Next was the so called kitchen area, the fridge was filthy and old and rusty. There was no worktop as such just a sheet of steel. Unit doors were loose and certainly not adequate for a supposed four person apartment.
We never saw a cleaner all week, got our towels changed twice, no bed linen changed during our week, had to ask for toilet paper at reception twice. Utensils were broken. Lights bulbs were missing, balcony light did not work and to charge £80 for under occupancy was an absolute insult. There is no way four people could share this poky apartment. When the door was closed, we could still hear the noise from the lounge at the other side of the apartments.
Entertainment, these folk wouldn't get past an audition for the X factor. The racket as you walked in the reception coming from the lounge, was awful. They obviously didn't realise that the mike could be turned down to accommodate the size of the lounge.
Any family coming here on a budget would have it blown in minutes, having to hire basics such as toasters, safety deposit box, and on the instructions it was like a boot camp. You will keep the place tidy and you will leave your rubbish at the side of the building before you leave. Incidentally, you could buy a toaster for less than the cost of the hire. Didn't even enquire as to how much a TV would cost to rent, because I wouldn't give them the satisfaction of handing over even more money.
This was supposed to be a relaxing break. The only place this could be done was on a lovely little beach we found five minutes from the apartments. It was not on the main beach but a wee cove, which had a little shack selling cold beer and snacks, playing the blues in the background (and I'm not a blues fan), but it was just a lovely atmosphere. This was the most relaxing part.
We sat at the pool for an hour or so, that was enough. Hard cheap plastic loungers, then the blaring music came on.
Didn't eat in the place as I don't go to Spain to eat British food and also I wouldn't give them any more money than we had already paid.
Oh and then we had Rab C Nesbitt and Mary Doll next door having a blaring row from around midnight to 3am, screaming at each other, we thought we were going to see a fist coming through the wall, it was so thin. Oh and if you want to sit and read in bed, forget that, there is a shelf around 9 inches just above the bed head.
They rate this as a 3 star, no chance. We had a wander to the 3 star hotel just up the road and had a meal in there, superb. The Playa Park was far superior and looked more like 4 star than 3.
Thomas Cook really need to take heed about what people are saying about these apartments and pull them because the public do rely on a travel agents expertise.
I would go back to Salou sometime but I will be very very careful about where we stay.

When we first arrived at the apartment lobby I noticed that the design was extremely bland and that there was no staff from our tour operator to welcome us.
The room itself was very basic and tiny, although cooking facilities where ok. The view from our balcony (and pretty much everyone else's) overlooked a large area of tiled stone and the balcony itself was incredible tiny.
I don’t feel that the room accommodates small children and seeing that this is a family resort I was very disappointed.

At reception on arrival I was asked for 60 Euros deposit on the room against damages.
I, quite reasonably asked to see my room first. On being shown the room it was obvious it had not been cleaned and there were many defects, broken tiles, holes in the wall, broken woodwork and dirty kitchen and toilet.
I then asked for another room which was also in the same state. I took the 3rd room offered which still had many defects plus no kitchen utensils such as a kettle or toaster.
Although I was not happy I felt I had no choice.
Each day, the noise from the swimming pool area disco was deafening. The food looked appalling and I was glad I had not booked half board. I spoke to the rep and was told I was making a fuss.
There was no evidence of any cleaners on duty and it became obvious that we were expected to clean our own rooms, for which privilege we paid 60euros.
The bedding was torn with cigarette burns and was not changed throughout the week.
All in all it is the worst self catering hotel and holiday I have ever had.
I would strongly recommend you to avoid this aparthotel if you are going to Salou.

Salou international II room was clean and big enough for two people. Wouldn’t like to be squeezing more than that into the studio though. Toilet was also good with an excellent power shower. When we arrived and were allocated our room, we discovered there had been a leak in the ceiling and plaster had fallen down onto the bed below it. Within 2 minutes we were allocated a new and perfect room. Entertainment at the pool was quite loud, but we found it amusing.
The nightlife in Salou is crap. It’s mostly geared towards up to 18s and maybe over 50s and nothing in between. The only nightlife we really enjoyed (and was in any way lively at the start of June - salou nightlife was like a ghost town) was Chaplins where the staff were fabulous and the entertainment was great too (keep an eye out for the very sweet Royston who works there).
As for the food in Salou, if you are happy with sausage and mash, or frozen burger in a bun with chips - you’re laughing. If however you expect to eat in nice restaurants then you have a task ahead of you to find them. Only places I would recommend in Salou to eat are the Guinness Tavern and Italiano Sorrento which is just off a side street to the apartments. The Comedy Bar is a good spot for some scrambled eggs!
Salou was very rough - nastiest place I have ever been. In the week we were there a 17 yr old English boy was knifed to death outside Kiss nightclub, and a girl was raped up the alleyway of the side of the International II. These were all kept pretty quiet so many guests hadn’t heard about what was going on.
During our one week stay, three apartments (that we heard of) were broken into in these apartments. Two were on our floor (2nd) and one on the floor below us. They were using the fire escape to get into the hotel and basically pushing the door in to gain access to apartments. The apartments have no way of being locked from the inside - and there is no phone in the room to phone reception and no peephole to see who is knocking at your door.
The Lithuanian guy who works security for the International also works as a rep for Sinatra's next door. On checkout he refused people their deposit (€100) back until they had cleaned out their fridge (usually leave anything that is good still in there for the cleaners who may wish to take home) and also insisted that people return to their rooms to empty their bins and take the rubbish out. And the insisting was not done in a nice way. There were a lot of very upset people at checkout.
I would not go back to Salou, it’s too unsafe.

As soon as my partner and I arrived we were ordered to pay 60 Euros for damages for room. We had not been told about this charge, it was not in our last minute contract for a quick 7 day break and we thought it was excessive, considering we were Students on a budget.
We refused and checked our room. It looked like it had not been cleaned. It looked and smelled dirty. There was a dirty plaster in the middle of the Balcony and there was cracks on tiles and walls and cigarette burns on the Settee.
We complained and given a new room but this room was also just as bad and looked as though it had not been cleaned. There was a strong smell of urine coming from the bathroom and toilet seat was sticky. There was no kettle or toaster also.
So we complained and the rep came and asked us why we had had a fuss in reception about giving over our passport and a deposit. We have never experience this on any other holiday.
In the end we wrote a list of faults and signed a piece of paper but refused to pay our deposit. During the week the room was not cleaned. Only the rubbish was taken away and towels changed.
The noise was unbearable and deafening. We couldn't hear ourselves think and longed to get some peace and quiet which we could only get on the beach.
After cleaning our own room all week on the last morning we were escorted back to our room to remove all rubbish and it was checked for damages.
I will never stop there again, it spoilt our holiday and we were looking forward to getting home.

My husband and I arrived at the hotel at about ten thirty at night.
You could hardly hear yourself think for the entertainment going on in the lounge just off reception. It was just a little bit too loud but we asked for a high room and were given room 415.
The lifts were very rapid and within five minutes of arriving we were in our room.
Very airy extremely clean, all the bed linen was crisp and fresh 11 out of 10 for the room. The shower in the bathroom gets a 12, it was so powerful and hot water came instantly.
The veranda had a table and two chairs, it overlooked the pool area but the one gripe about cleanliness, we did have was the mop bucket left on the veranda all week full of dirty water.
Next morning we were woken up to loud overpowering entertainment staff on the microphone music that made your head ache, then loud entertainment staff again touting for people to buy bingo tickets for fantastic cash prizes.
I will just quickly warn guests at this point "Don’t buy bingo tickets or the wooden pegs to play their famous peg game!" We sat and clocked up how many tickets they sold over two nights and prize money was terrible.
Entertainment outside the hotel was our next port of call, we got fed up of being ripped off!
Sinatra’s next door very reasonable for a breakfast at 3 Euros including tea or coffee but the best two places nearby for a good breakfast are the comedy Bar and Richards Bar just up the hill a few metres.
Salou itself is very nice the beach is gorgeous and there are some really lovely bars to suit every body’s tastes.
Trips I recommend you do the Barcelona with the Prada local bus company they have kiosks on every street with staff in yellow jackets to guide you to the right bus etc.
29 Euros each and we were taken to the football stadium, centre of Barcelona for two hours and then on to the famous music fountains, it was a really nice day out with an excellent guide (Reps at hotel were charging 69 Euros for same trip).
Local buses are so easy to use so it is easy to go out of Salou and look at surrounding areas, Cambrils a fifteen minute ride away was very nice totally different to Salou the harbour there is pretty you can also get a boat from Salou to Cambrils return trip for 10 Euros that is a nice afternoon out.
Aquapolis water park in las Pineda 15 minute bus ride great for families and couples there you will find some hair raising water rides the one sitting on the toboggan is a must!
Would I go back? To Salou yes and I certainly would stay at Internacional 2 again if they toned the entertainment down to a reasonable sound level.
There were days when I sat in the bathroom for ten mins just to get away from the constant noise.
The reception staff were really nice and helpful, it is a shame that they have such people on the pay roll to attempt to entertain the guests.

I would highly recommend this hotel.
I found the rooms were clean and tidy with lovely bathrooms and large wardrobes with good sleeping facilities and a great balcony with good views and great air conditioning.
The hotel itself was great the food was quite good and the pool was great.
There’s entertainment during the day with music and some games and quite good entertainment at night but didn’t stay at the hotel much as we liked to go out to bars and restaurants.
The two main places I would recommend for eating are Sinatra’s joined onto the hotel
And the Texas embacy as their food was delicious, and only a 2 minute walk to each
I have been 3 times and adored it can’t wait to go back.
There is plenty to do with theme parks, shops, boat trips and day trips to Barcelona.

I have just booked my third visit to these apartments so I think that says enough!
I found the apartment to be basic but you have everything you need especially air-conditioning which is a must-it gets very hot in Salou.
The staff are excellent- very friendly and helpful. The entertainment is great especially for the kids; my little brother (8) wanted to get back from port adventura in time for the entertainment at the bar!
The beaches are beautiful, very clean and only a 5/10 min walk away.
There are loads of great places to eat but we found the restaurant next to the hotel the best for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Forget the name Texas-something!
Overall a great place to go for all ages can’t wait to get back again!

I went to the international II in may with my fiance the hotel was brilliant a brilliant service for the price we paid it was in the centre of everything the shops, bars and restaurants. even though the pool is shaded by the trees but with the time we went we didnt get much sun anyway, we went in a self catering basis and ate out every night i would highly recomend uncle sams just down the road they do a mean steak.
The hotel was cleaned everyday however they only changed the towels twice in the week that we were there, but when you go on holiday on a self catering basis i dont know what some people expect, who stays in the hotel every day anyway!!!
