Best Western Pasitea Hotel

We just came back from a week's stay in Italy. I wanted to be sure to get in 2 days in Positano because of the movies "Under the Tuscan Sun" and "Only You". I wanted someplace nice and affordable and this fit the bill. Unfortunately, some things went wrong. We got there on a rainy day after a 4-hr road trip from Rome (shouldn't have taken that long but road signs are not the best in Italy and the rain didn't help). Positano is expensive so this hotel is really one of the best bangs for your buck. Every hotel in Positano has a nice view and this one is no exception. Of course, the pricier hotels have a better view of the town below, especially the brown sand beach. However, that view would be a 10 of 10 and ours was a 9 of 10. Simply awesome. The staff, especially Tony, are great, as are their restaurant recommendations. Be forewarned, though, Positano is not known for its cuisine. Stayed at the Pasitea for six nights back in October. As has been said, Tony was a great help. He helped with recommending restauarants, espacially in arranging a night out at La Tagliata which is way up in the hills. Save room in your tummy for that experience - 5 courses including beer/wine and dessert. During dinner and up to about 11pm, this great couple entertained with music and dancing. We stayed 2 nights, Nov 3 & 4, 2006. The room was adequate but the views were spectacular. Upon check in we met Tony, and he was great, very friendly and helpful. However, the next day we met the other manager (cannot remember his name) and he was rude. After a long day of touring, we just wanted a pizza for dinner - we walked down the hill and purchased 2 pizzas and we intended to eat them in the BW breakfast room, which had tables and was empty and this manager became very indignant and rude. The hotel is rated by BW as a 3 star property and I would support that rating, the room itself looks a little tired here and there, however the payoff for this property is an incredible million dollar view of the sea and town below . Each room has it's own terrace ours was quite large and included 2 lounge chairs, and a bistro set, the room has a mini fridge, so it's quite easy to purchase wine or other refreshments. Note there is a fee of 18E additional per day to park your car, we paid 170E per night. The hotel was quite easy to find.

Just returned from the most amazing stay for our wedding. 24 of us booked into the hotel and all agree it was brilliant. The staff (especially Tony the manager) are superb. Well worth paying for a suite as the terraces are wonderful (as well as the hot tub). Certainly have no hesitation in recommending themn. Just one thing, it is worth investing in a fitness course before you go, because the steps are a killer. If you keep to the road you WILL survive !!!!!

We just stayed at the Best Western Pasitea on Sept 1st and it was incredible. When we arrived, we were upgraded to a beautiful room with a jacuzzi tub overlooking the Meditteranean sea and a huge patio (without asking). The room was beautiful, spotless, huge. There were 2 twins pushed together to make a double instead of one bed (common everywhere though). My family and I really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was very clean and bright and we did not experience noise from other rooms or in the hallway. The views are breathtaking and the little balconies with table and chairs are a nice touch although I do agree that you look over other balconies so privacy is not so good. The bus in and out of town was very convenient, and parking was just down the street so no trouble there. Our stay at the Pasitea was most enjoyable. Its location is away from the beach but with a bus stop outside this was not a problem. The staff were pleasant and very helpful, recommending some very good restaurants which were close by. Our room had a small balcony, but the views were fantastic. The decor throughout was fresh and bright.

While highly touristed, Positano is well worth seeing. We loved the town, and we really enjoyed this hotel. We had a room with a flower-filled balcony that had a spectacular view of the town and the beautiful deep blue water below. The room was clean, well-furnished, and quiet. Yes, the hotel is in a residential area which means that patrons need to walk to get to the center of town below and back, or take a public bus back that stopped right in front of the hotel.
