Grand Tritone Hotel

My husband and I just returned from our honeymoon where we stayed at Grand Hotel Tritone for the last 3 days. It absolutely made our trip and was well worth the money. We had a gorgeous suite with superb views (Although I think you'd get this in any room). The balcony area was lovely and the room was clean and spacious. Upon arrival at the hotel the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We would recommend the resteraunt for dinner, where we reserved a table and were seated on the balcony. My wife & I stayed here for 3 nights. What a wonderful place. Great staff who were thoroughly helpful in every aspect. Food was top notch and the views were spectacular. It's costly but if you want a place thats quiet, relaxing and chilled then this is it! Could not recommend it highly enough.

This has to be one of the most beautiful and breathtaking hotels on the Amalfi Coast. We rented the 4 Junior Suites and had one of the most memorable few nights on the coast. Great food, wonderful Calamari! and excellant wine. (Although one night I had to show them how to make top shelf margarita for me) This hotel was great in ways of hospitality and friendliness. Will definately stay there again. Great exploring the vacant lots and deserted estates next to the hotel on the cliff. Not for the faint of heart, but very, very cool.

My husband and I spent 7 days at the end of our 10 day honeymoon on the Amalfi coast at the Hotel Tritone. We booked our trip through Club ABC Tours and got what we considered an amazing deal! The Hotel Tritone is a one of a kind hotel. It is situated on the side of a cliff and therefore can only offer amazing views. I can only assume that those that gave this hotel a bad review were either there years ago, or (in this case of the noisy room) fail to understand that people tend to eat very late in the evening in continental Europe (siestas and all that). Anyway, this hotel is amazing. The staff are wonderful, you almost feel as if you're part of the family at the end of the stay. They even know your room number after a couple of days without asking. An Almalfi Experience One of the highlights of our group's two weeks in Italy this summer was our two-night stay at the Grand Tritone. It truly was as amazing experience. The view from our balcony was breathtaking. The beautiful Tyrrhenian Sea before you , with the cliffside towns of Positano and Praiano on either side. There are a lot of wonderful hotels along the majestic Amalfi Coast. Grand Hotel Tritone (on the outskirts of Praiano on route to Positano) is NOT one of them. Despite the magical view, which most hotels along the Coast offer, our experience was downright terrible. Not only is the hotel very noisy at night (we had a junior suite and still had non-stop noise from the restaurant until the early morning hours), but the service is also awful. The hotel was so tired and outdated looking. It was truly an eyesore. The rooms were not clean and certainly not comfortable. We felt like we were roughing it! Imagine roughing it for $250 a night. The restaurant was an expensive joke. And the staff inhospitable. When we asked for some cultural guidance they directed us to the tourism office in Positano!!! Undoubtedly a beautiful location and views. However, the first room they brought us to badly needed updating and was not so clean. We asked to change, and were shown a better room with a balcony. The hotel seemed like it was stuck in a 70s time warp...in some ways this was restful. Certainly not worth the 5 star price we paid (250+ euro/night is a lot, even in high season)in terms of the room (I know 5 star is different in Europe than in the States) , amenties, and cleanliness. Beautiful hotel overlooking the ocean. We had a two room suite with a GIGANTIC terrace. I don't remember the room number, but it is situated directly UNDER the swimming pool. The elevator rides to the beach were a little scary, but well worth it!!!!!!!!The staff became like family - so friendly!!!!The food was out of this world. We have never eaten better!!!!!Dinners are served on the terrace of the main restaurant, overlooking PARADISO!!!!!!!Can't say enough about this hotel. Just about a 15 drive around the bend from Positano.
