We have just returned from Nice on Sunday 12th June. We flew with BMI Baby from Birmingham Airport on Friday the 10th June, which was the launch of this new route.
We stayed at the Hotel Mercure on the Promenade des Anglais on a bed and breakfast basis. The rooms appeared to be newly decorated and the bathroom was excellent. We had sea view rooms overlooking the beach and it was a great time as the hotel was in such a good location.
Don’t bother with a taxi from the Airport it’s too expensive and the 98 bus from outside the terminal takes you to the hotel for 4 euros. It’s only 3 miles.
Take the train to Monaco for the day and check out the casino in Monte Carlo! Beer is expensive but house wine by the carafe is good value. Starters are usually quite large so a main course is usually enough if you are not a huge eater.
