Ramada Grantham Hotel

on Entering the hotel it felt very roomy the Ramada is a very Large hotel the receptionist was Helpfull when she had finished on the Phone when we got to the room it was very Roomy and the bed was so Comfy at around 7ish me n my fiancee went for a meal i did expect a little more for what i was paying for there was a choice of around 3 items of the starter menu 2 choices of the mains and around 2 dessert choices i had a bottle of wine but wasnt to impressed to be honest i was glad to get back to my room watch a bit of Tv and go to sleep the... more

Had a room booked but got a call to say that they couldn't accommodate me any more. Rang to discuss but no manager on site and duty manager wouldn't speak to me. The receptionist said "the best we can do is give you a refund" - as if that is doing me a favour! I was only staying there because I have an interview there the next day. I stayed in a ramada the night of my wedding and hold the hotel brand in high regard. Not anymore. I booked it for a strategic review with a customer and was severely embarassed by the experience. I will never book another one. Here's why: On arrival the car park was full – I used the last space in the rear car-park which concerned me because my client was arriving in an hour and wouldn’t have a space! I stayed in the Ramad Grantham for three nights in December 2009 and overall found it a rather dispiritng experience. On arrival in a car park full of white vans I had to run the gauntlet of the massed smokers hanging around the entrance; the young receptionist couldn't tell me what conference room I was using for the following day and I wasn't ofered any help with luggage. My husband went to Grantham for business and I joined him (as I do not work). Check in was fine and the first impression of the room was ok - a bit stuffy. First morning after the room was cleaned, I found that 3 of the 6 pillows were left on the floor, shampoo and soap not refilled, ice bucket not emptied and A DIRTY SPOON IN THE COFFEE CUP provided. I stayed at the Ramada for 10 nights (in Janurary 09 and February 09). and I have few things to say about the place: Condition of the the bathroom was poor, the floor had not been brushed or washed for the 5 nights I was there. The towells had a smell, the head of the shower had mould. The carpet in the room had not been vaccumed during the time I stayed there. the radiator was broken.(it was freezing cold in February 09, remember?) Stayed here for a convention of about 100 noisy musicians. The staff were were accomodating and the bar staff generally brilliant. There were a few foul-ups with the front desk, such as their giving out the wrong password for the hotel's Wi-Fi network to all the guests. Our room was at the end of a hall and we had to run the tap and shower for a good five minutes every time we wanted hot water. Otherwise about what you'd expect for a Ramada. I stayed here many times previously when it was a Marriott owned Hotel. All used to be ok but this time all was still ok except the staff did not appear to have their minds on the job. Hotel was not at full capacity, yet the staff got a number of things wrong and seemed not to care. I was asked to 'come back later for dinner as they were busy' ,decided to opt for room service and they delivered wrong meal. Having stayed in several other hotels in Grantham (business, not pleasure), I can honestly say that it's not worth staying at hotels in the town centre - the place is dead on an evening. The Grantham Ramada, although on the outskirts of town, gives everything that you need - spacious, clean rooms, helpful staff and a superb restaurant.

I stayed here overnight when in Grantham on business. The hotel is situated on the outskirts of the town, so a taxi from the station was pretty much essential. The rooms were reasonably spacious and well appointed. I ate from the room service menu, which was not hugely inspiring. The food generally, but particularly breakfast, was quite pricey. Although I didn't use them, the leisure facilities, including indoor pool looked good. In summary, an average hotel, primarily for business users.
