Elizabeth Grimsby Hotel

We stayed here whilst my father was very ill in hospital in Louth, so turned up late and tired - staff on reception lovely (duty manager), food good, room OK if dated and scruffy in places. Carpets on stairs tripping hazard as they are so shredded - H&S inspectors please note, and also anyone who wears high heeled shoes! Apparently Thursday nights they let some friend of the staff practice her cabaret act (C&W mewled at high volume) in a function room next to the dining room - execrable while you are trying to eat. The hotel could do with updating decor is very dated, however rooms are clean and cosy. Reception staff very friendly didnt charge us for breakfast , breakfast was very nice. good value for money would stay again

I had three nights in Grimsby and stayed at two different hotels. I just had one night at the Elizabeth Hotel. I arrived very late in the evening so I didn’t have a really good look round. Firstly I thought I was in an episode of ‘Life on Mars’ and had returned to 1973 as the hotel was quite dated. The staff on reception were very friendly and made me feel very welcome. i loved syaying at the hotel the food was excellent and the staff was very friendly and very elpful. the hotel yes could do with a decorator in there but i give a great big compliment to the chef he or she is amazing i would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for somewhere to stay in Grimsby all in all i enjoyed every day that i was there and i think that the cleaners also do a superb job in keeping the place tidy.

We went to a Wedding on Oct 4th. I agree the hotel is tired and needed updating and on arrival the heating had broken down but the staff gave us a portable heater . The meal was wonderful and the breakfast was lovely. and the Staff I thought were smashing. so all in all not as bad as the reveiws ive read on here.

this hotel is brilliant the food is, the people are so welcoming, the rooms are nice and cosy, a+++++. i would recommend to anyone!!!

I stayed at the Elizabeth Hotel for business purposes for 4 nights. I wouldn't know where to start to describe the overall mediocrity of the hotel. First of all, the hotel hasn't obviously seen any refurbishment since the 70s -a special mention goes to the chandelier a the restaurant entrance-. The room was on the fourth floor, right below the noisy extraction fan. I learnt by bitter experience not to stay or eat here. The food was appalling & the service only just above that. I now understand that the majority of the local community avoid the place like the plague because of the quality of the food that has been served to them in the restaurant. I was nearly laughed out of town by them for staying there!! The only good thing was a large car park.
