St James Hotel

would never saty there again! room was old tired and had a funny smell of poo i know but it did,wall paper coming off the walls the loo water ran consistanly, also had a funny smelly of a nursing room generally not that good i wouldnt recommend it however it had basic needs for a cheap night! but i thought it could of been better since it is ran by the cours group.

I telephoned from Doncaster to to say my train was delayed. I asked if the restaurant would be open after 9pm. The reply was "No" I then asked if I could I get room service as I would be late. The reply was again "No" The room I was offered was scruffy, bedlinen smelly and I noticed that the heating was not working. I was moved at 11.30pm after attempted repairs to the radiator to another room where the walls were so thin I could hear the occupant next door snoring, grunting and f***ting. I stayed one night here in April 2005. It is a 1960/70s hotel fairly near the railway station which was its good point. The whole hotel was very tired and expensive for what I got. The inside of the lift doors were covered in scratched into the paintwork graffiti, you would have had time to do this because it was so slow! The room was clean and spacious but the bed could have been a bit softer.
