Monte Malaga Hotel

Myself & and a friend stayed at this hotel for one night in June. It was a lovely experience. The hotel was very modern, spotless clean, very friendly staff and it was true value for money. It was approx 20 minutes from Malaga Airport, it was located on the seafront, 2 minute walk from the beach. There is a lovely Chinese Restaurant beside the hotel. Would highly recommened and would stay at this hotel again....

Super hotel. I would rate it a 4 star superior hotel (ie halfway between 4 star and 5 star). Why? 1. rooms are very clean 2. rooms are very modern 3. rooms are very large 4. rooms have beautiful bathrooms 5. you get free internet access 6. it has a great sauna 7. it has average gym and swimming facilities 8. it's close to centre of town (10 minute walk) 9. it's not far from the gay area in Malaga either (Plaze de Mercad, 15 minute walk, max 20 mins); although gay Malaga is quite sad for a city... more

We had a bit of trouble actually reaching the hotel, although we could see it perfectly! If you are coming in on the coast road from the direction of the airport, make sure you are in the RIGHT-HAND lane, so that you can do a 'U turn' to get to the hotel. We were in the left lane and ended up in the notorious Malaga one-way system and it took some time to get back to the hotel. We spent our last night of our Andalusian 1 week trip in the Monte Malaga Hotel in Malaga. Couldn't have made a better choice. We asked a double room with an extra bed. Which was perfectly arranged when arriving. The extra bed was of a very nice quality (I can tell you other stories). Very recent hotel (May 2005), perfectly clean and comfortable rooms (nice size). My boyfriend and I really enjoyed this hotel! The staff was very helpful, friendly and attentive. They had no problem speaking English and supplied us with helpful tips and maps about the area. They pointed out some beautiful restaurants, parks, up-scale shopping and museums that were within short walking distance. Although the lady at the desk admitted that Malaga wasn't known for its beaches, she DID recommend some great spots nearby that would be an alternative option. Great hotel. Very modern with all the amenities, including free internet and a free spa downstairs! A bit far from the centre, but a nice walk. The surrounding area isn't beautiful but the hotel is.

This hotel is very new, very quiet and has beautiful modern designer rooms, great beds. The staff are extremely helpful (gracias, Salvador!) in all matters, and try hard to speak your language whatever it is. Private parking is secluded and safe like a bank. The location is a 5-7 minutes from downtown where all the action is, seaside, but this is really a good thing because you get a quiet night´s´sleep. I stayed at this hotel last November on business, and have to say that it is a shame that such a lovely hotel, with such facilities, is under such bad management. Rooms are lovely, and location is not bad, but their phylosopy of service is poor, and its general manager embarrasing to meet. Would not like to say more, but be aware if planning to stay there.

I had a great trip to MALAGA with Cambridge University Boat Club. We went with Oxford University Boat Club to row against the Local Rowing Club , Club Remo Mediterraneo. We flew out British Airways and were hosted at the new Monte Malaga Hotel, where the Rooms were excellent, the Staff helpful and the Food very good. We also went to the Fiesta with the Tourist Board and this was an amazing 3 streets of non-stop Singing, Dancing, Eating and Drinking in FERIA just outside Malaga.
