Cambridge Garden House Moat House Hotel

When we pulled up at the front of the hotel, the concierge came out and took our case and then parked the car. Check in at reception was quick without any problems, the room was lovely with a river view. The bar was lovely in the evening with a pianist playing. My only small criticism was that there was no bath foam in the room and I asked housekeeping and they could not provide any. There were a lot of foreign staff in the hotel and we sometimes did have a problem with the language. But otherwise would definetly recommend this hotel.

My sister booked this hotel as a treat for us for my birthday. We had a lovely girly weekend. The hotel was great, only a 5 minute walk from the centre of Cambridge. The rooms were really nice, modern and spacious. The hotel also was by the river and had an outdoor terrace aswell, perfect to sit and have your pre dinner drinks on a nice evening. It also had a swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna which we used too. I would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to go back.

The location and friendly attitude of 95% of the staff is exceptional in this hotel. The rooms are fantastic and the location and views almost unbeatable in the centre of Cambridge. I was travelling for pleasure with my elderly and disabled parents but usually travel on business - it would suit either use perfectly. Very 'fresh' smell (recently refurbed) and great contempory style but my 75 year old parents loved it too! The only downer for us surrounded the dining experience. This is a lovely looking hotel in a good location. My room was very nice and a good size but I think it is a bit expensive for what you get. I was really disappointed with the breakfast. The food was very greasy and the choice was very limited. If you are going to stay here I would book room only!

Have stayed in several hotels in Cambridge, which is not known for great hotels. So this was a real treat and in fact I think it's actually one of the nicest UK hotels I've ever stayed in. Also very central, just a short walk to the Colleges and town centre. We upgraded to a room with a lovely big window overlooking the river. We had booked an executive room (No 308) at £ 189/night (excluding breakfast!). The room was lovely, same for the bathroom. The only (big) problem was the noise: there is something creating a strong vibration (a pump maybe) and it never stops, even during the night. Worse, our room was just beside the firedoors and early in the morning, you could ear them banging each time someone was pushing them. Really painful! Given the quality of the room, and the price charged it is a real shame that the hotel doesn't pay more attention to... more
