Well what can i say, addicted might just some it up. I am going back this year to stay in these apartments for the 7th time overall! If that doesnt help you make up your mind as to if you want to go or not i don't know what will!
The apartments are brilliant and have not long been refurbished. Suitable for 2 adults and 2 children (any more and it might be a little crowded). Nice size bathroom with an all in one bath and shower, small kitchen area but i doubt itd get used much as there are so many restaurants there. One thing you will love is the air conditioning units, after spending all day on the beach you come into your room switch it on and within minutes you'll be needing to turn it off. Life saver in the middle of August!
One down side to the place and thats the pool, id advise not to go in there as every year i seem to go there the pool is murky and people who use it get ear infections. Steer clear if you want to enjoy your holiday!!
Now for the beach. It's the most beautiful place, clean and safe and the sea is perfect for young children. There are no currents and no tides and the waves (if any) are a matter of inches high. The sea is crystal clear and if you go down there first thing in the moring and go for a snorkel there are fish all over the place.
TIP for the kiddies: Take bread down and first thing in the moring wade out a little and throw some bread in, the fish go mad for it and iv even caught them in my hands! Also mums and dads stock up on the waterproof cameras, The kids will be wanting to take pictures of all the fish.
Id recommed it to anybody who is looking for a relaxing holiday, all night life seems to stop just after 11(ish). So you wont be up all night.
As for renting a car, id say that you would only need it for a day max as there really isnt alot to do on the island. Mahon and cittudela are the main places, lovely towns with lots going on. But to be honest when you drive back into the bay its by far the best place on the island.

These are great apartments in a fantastic location.
The Galdana Gardens are a small complex of 50 apartments in two blocks with the pool situated between them -ideal for couples or those with small children looking for a quiet relaxing holiday.
It was the location that made it for us, Cala Galdana is a great resort- very picturesque and the apartments are just across from the beach by the marina with plenty of restuarants near by.
I would find it really hard to find fault with them other than they really are only suitable for 2 adults + 2 kids as the sofa beds in the living area are not the most comfortable (although our 8 yr old had no problems and slept really well!)The overall impression is that they are well maintained, spotlessly clean and after having the best time ever we have already booked to go back next year!!!

Location! Location! Location! is what these apartments are all about - a one minute walk to the supermarket and a good choice of restaurants, and a short stroll to the beach.
The one bed apartment comprised a bedroom with 2 single beds, a lounge with a small but adequate kitchen area and a good sized bathroom with bath and shower (above the bath).
The lounge has two beds that fit under the sofas (foam mattresses) - our 4-year-old son slept on one of these (which we moved into the bedroom) and this worked perfectly for us. The apartment might be a bit of a squeeze for 4 adults but it was a great size for us. It was not luxurious but had everything we needed for a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing holiday.
We were on the first floor overlooking the pool from our balcony, which was a good place to be. There are 4 floors in this block, and also some first floor apartments over the shops/restaurants.
The pool is clean and has a separate children's area. It's not huge - but that was not a problem when we were there as there weren't many people around.
I would recommend these apartments to anyone looking for comfortable, centrally located apartments close to the beach. A big plus point of these apartments is that they are on the flat. There is a very steep hill in Cala Galdana so it's worth checking out exactly where any apartments are located as it's a bit of a slog up the hill in the heat!

We had a fab holiday and could not fault it from beginning to end. The apartments were clean with frequent towel and linen changes, the pool was great, - the beach was lovely.
It's difficult to find a bad comment! We didn't have one single bad meal - the toboggan slide was a great bribe for good behaviour from the kids! We meet lots of lovely families who all said they would definitely visit again.
We have already looked at visiting again next year and can't find any availability for the school holidays, but we will definitely go back one day.

Just returned from Cala Galdana Gardens having stayed in an apartment above restaurants/shops absolutely no problems with noise or anything from these.
The apartment was very adequate and clean.
The apartments also have fans/air condition type units fitted both in the lounge and bedroom, very useful on warm summer nights and days.
The staff very friendly. The views are superb.
The location of these apartments are ideal for everything this resort has to offer, can't recommend them highly enough.
TIP : if you intend to buy a phone card to phone home as recommended, then buy from the rep as they are cheaper and the instructions are in English and easier to understand.

Having just returned from Menorca, I thought I would write a comment on the Cala Galdana Gardens Apartments. We were in one of the Apartments above the shops which we would highly recommend for the stunning views alone.
The Apartments were first class, very clean and comfortable. The resort was just as good, very clean and amenities were very close by.
I would strongly recommend these Apartments and resort for anyone who's looking for a nice peaceful relaxing holiday.

The apartments are basic but cleaned on a regular basis, as is the swimming pool.
The local staff are friendly enough when you see them, which is great as we like to do our own thing, if we did need assistance I would contact tour rep... If not with tour operator there is someone on site throughout the day.
The swimming pool is okay in size but not to sure what it is like in peak season, sun beds are free within the complex. Their are no snacks or drinks on sale but you are surrounded by shops and restaurants that are less than a minutes walk away.
There are cheap and expensive restaurants, with the Tabogan restaurant being cheap with a waterslide costing only 5 euros for 25 goes and free sun beds, so while the kids play you can relax beside the slide with food or drink.
Location is superb for the beautiful beach which is around 400m away, the water is very shallow, great for little and big kids as are the waves that gently wash up onto the soft sandy beach.
If you are looking for lively nightlife or nightclubs don't come here, everywhere shuts around midnight. But if you want to avoid lager louts and noisy people, then here is ideal with the big hotels providing the main source of entertainment in the evenings for adults and children alike.
I would recommend Galdana Gardens to anyone wanting clean and good priced apartments with an excellent location for the resort itself and for the beach. We have already booked for July 2007.

Cala Galdana is a lovely resort with a beautiful horeshoe bay and thoroughly deserves it's title of 'Queen of Bays'.
We (2 adults and 3 children aged 16, 14 and 11) stayed for 10 nights in the Galdana Gardens Apartments and were not disappointed.
We had to book 2 apartments as they are for a max. 4 persons. However, we were allocated 2 together with access only for ourselves i.e. no one else used the steps up to our apartments which gave us much more privacy.
The staff are very friendly and professional. There is a bureau de change facility in the office - very handy.
Our apartments were above a small promenade of shops (supermarket just round the corner) and bars with stunning views across the bay - lovely both day and night! As there are only 9 such apartments (the others being at the side and rear of the small, well kept complex) take a tip from me and ask, as a special request when booking, for apartments 1 - 9. Also, pre-book a fan in the height of season as there is no air conditioning.
My only complaint (hence 9, not 10 out of 10) was the very small amount of work service in the kitchen area. Having said that, I only used it to make up sandwiches for lunch time! The apartments are only a few minutes walk (no more than 5!) from the beach so it's very easy to pop back when everyone's feeling hungry.
The swimming pool is quite small (as we are a 'beach' family it didn't bother us) and, despite it being an 'exclusive to the UK complex', it was amazing how quickly all of the sunbeds had towels put on them in the morning!
The beach is really clean and the sea is very clear. Goggles and snorkelling equipment are a must - cheap to buy in-resort. Would highly recommend you take a disposable underwater camera to take some piccies of the fish - it's amazing how many there are yet they never bother you at all whilst swimming. Also, buy a beach umbrella to give some respite from the sun. They are available to hire but expensive - 19 euros per day for 2 sun loungers and an umbrella. Take a tip from us though and buy a more expensive umbrella (again, plenty available in-resort) to give it a bit of stability when the breeze gets strong.
Enough to keep us happy and entertained in the resort. There is a small selection of shops bars and restaurants, ranging from 'cheap and cheerful' to more expensive and exclusive. I won't recommend any restaurants in particular as we weren't disappointed in any of them we tried.
In terms of evening entertainment, we just wandered from hotel to hotel sitting and listening to whatever was on that night.
Everything closes down around about 11 - 11.30p.m. so no disturbed nights listening to disco music or rowdy drunks wandering back to their hotels etc.
We hired a car for 3 days to see more of the island (hired in resort as it was cheaper than through the rep).
Really like Cuidadella and Mahon (take the harbour trip in the yellow catamaran). We were also 'introduced'to a lovely cove near to Cala 'n Blanes called Cala en Brut.
If you or your family like to jump or dive into crystal clear sea from varying heights (the highest being approx. akin to jumping from the roof of a house!)from specially built concrete platforms in the rocks, then a trip here is a must! Our boys (14 and 11) couldn't get enough of it! Far cheaper and much more entertaining than the nearby waterpark.
The Caves of Xoroi are also worth a visit. The views are stunning and it's just an interesting place to visit.
Would I recommend Cala Galdana? Yes.
