" I was here on business for 1 night in... "

I was here on business for 1 night in Sept 07.

Typical Travelodge- nothing to write home about but location-wise slam bang in the city centre. There is a decent pub next to the place that serves decent food and drink, watch the football and relax but the Travelodge is what you expect from them - dull and unimaginative.

Bland rooms with the usual TV remote that never works sheets that are so itchy and hard you feel like buying fabric conditioner for the place or bringing your own. The place is quiet thankfully if you want a night's peace and quiet but I was there midweek so have no idea how busy/noisy it would be at the weekends. The room was clean and tidy and plus points for the shower.

Staff are, as usual, uninterested and look bored silly. It is cheap and uncheerful and a Travelodge after all - the McDonalds of the hotel business.

" Hotel close to town, short walk to... "

Hotel close to town, short walk to everything. Hotel is basic fine for an overnight stop but wouldn’t stay and longer.

Nothing in bathroom at all so make sure you bring your own stuff, tea and coffee facilities ok. Shower only in room no bath, no good for small kids.

Stairs were soaking wet the weekend we stayed and corridors were smelly, hopefully we were just unlucky but we were there 3 nights.

Staff very nice and helpful.

" We only paid about 50 quid for a... "

We only paid about 50 quid for a family room so for a value hotel it was very pleasant.

The room was a little small and it wasn’t quite ready when we arrived. However the room was clean as was the hotel, the staff were friendly, and a nice supply of tea and biccies in the room always goes down well.

It's not in the nicest area of town but it's only a short walk to the Mersey and it is very central. It's also quite close to the cavern club.

Overall recommended if you’re not stopping long otherwise it may get cramped.

" Stayed here when I went to the... "

Stayed here when I went to the Everton match and it’s always a cheaper place to stay, however the service is all good at the Travelodge.

The staff were lovely and the rooms are basic and clean and if you’re only sleeping in there, then they are good value for money.

I would use this place again.

" This hotel is well situated in the... "

This hotel is well situated in the city centre just a few minutes walk from lots of shopping and nightlife. It's not far from most tourist attractions either such as Albert Docks.

It's quite a big hotel (especially for a Travelodge) but is still in fairly good condition and generally well kept. The rooms are standard Travelodge. Not exactly luxurious, but adequate. The bed was comfortable, and the room was clean and tidy.

Bathroom toiletries are basic, but I took my own anyway. It was reasonably quiet when I was there midweek, but I'd imagine it's a bit rowdier at the weekend.

" This is a large, clean hotel based... "

This is a large, clean hotel based right on the edge of the shopping and nightlife district. It is easy to walk to a range of shops, bars and restaurants and about 10 minutes to Albert Docks. It is also close to Lime Street station and the local bus network.

There is not hotel car park, but you can pay to use the one opposite the hotel, although it will cost about £5 a day.

The staff are very helpful and were able to answer all my queries (and loan me a hairdryer) and there are a number of vending machines in the lobby for snacks.

Be warned, if you are planning to stay a Saturday night, you will need to book very early if either of the local football teams are playing at home.
