Marriott Tiberio Palace Resort & Spa

We booked this hotel somewhat at the last minute. It was not our first choice because the idea of staying in a Marriott in Italy, and especially on Capri, was really bothersome. With few other choices, we pulled the trigger, mostly based on strong reviews on this site. This ended up to be a mistake. The hotel was nice enough, but it simply had no "soul." Is it new?--yes. We stayed for two nights at the end of our visit to the Amalfi Coast. We wished we could have stayed longer. We had two adjoining rooms, as we travelled with our two children and these rooms were huge. We did not have a view but we did not spend much time in our room and the large size made up for the lack of view. The bathrooms were spacious and included a bath tub. My husband and I returned from a 10 day trip to Italy on July 10th, 2006. We spent our last 4 days on Capri at the JW Marriott. This hotel is amazing. Antonio met us at our ferry, in a crisp white Marriott uniform, and escorted us to the hotel while our luggage was brought to the hotel by trolley. Just got back from a 5 day stay at the Marriot Tiberio, and overall it was a really good experience with a few minor hiccups. Pros: The Staff is genuinely eager to please. The pool staff deserve a special commendation, standing out in the hot sun in full uniform, yet always with smiles on their faces. They are unobtrusive in the sense that they do not try to guilt you into ordering drinks while you relax by the pool. My wife and I stayed at the JW Marriott for a week in Capri. We were pleased with every aspect of our stay in Capri. The hotel staff is the best . We had 3 transportation issues caused by ferry, train and airline work stopages. Claudia and Giampiero at the front desk resolved all of our transportation issues and our scheduled tours didn't miss a beat. My husband and I spent 7 days at the Capri JW Marriott in Capri for our honeymoon. We absolutley loved it! It is a gorgeous hotel and the location is fabulous. About a 2 minute walk from all the restaurants and shopping. We found the staff and service to be superb. We just returned from a 2 night stay at the JW Marriott on Capri. I would say first off that issues raised in earlier reviews have been resolved. Everyone spoke english. The check in staff was very polite and informative. We had no issues understanding the genteman who met us at the dock nor our driver but be warned that the cost of transport of bags and shuttle ride to the square is 8 euros a bag. My husband and I just returned from a six night stay at the Marriott/Tiberio Resort and Spa on Capri. The hotel was absolutely wonderful in every respect, and it enhanced the great time we spent (first time) on Capri. They have all the details down to a science, and the staff couldn't have been more accomodating from check in to check out, including the transport of luggage on/off the boat. Just returned from Capri after staying 5 nights at the Marriott followed by 2 days in Sorrento. Having previously visited Capril on a day trip, it was time to explore the Isle over a longer period of time. Giovanni met us at the dock after our boat ride from Naples.
