Ramada Wetherby Hotel

Had a two night stay recently. We have been to numerous Ramada's in the past and I must say this only just scrapes through as being the lower end of o.k. We decided to dine in the restaurant on the second night which in all honesty was very good apart from children being allowed to run through the dining area from the lounge. There was a large wedding party in the bar area and these youngsters had great fun running amock. Pleased there were no shiny floors for the traditional "Peter Kay" sliding routine! Arrived on saturday night - no parking spaces available Room allocated stank of cigarette smoke and was in need of updating We were offered a twin, which was the size of a shoe box and again needed decorating and was very unwelcoming. The whole hotel, from the rooms we saw and the public areas were in dire need of refurbishment - at £89 pernight we chose not to stay and made a 75minute drive home at 1am. Certainly put me off staying at Ramada, which I had always thought were good quality

my one night stay due to visiting old school friends for a 40th reunion was marred by the fact my car was broken into while in the not very well lit and not very well monitored by the night security and porter car park!!! and guess what? ive just been contacted by the police and yep youve got it.. unfortunately the cctv system was out of order on that night (although i had been assured it was on 24hrs a day) ..there are many small b+bs around that area so i know where i'll be staying next time

Stayed for one night on August Bank holiday weekend. Overall experience was fine. bar/breakfast area: bar was fine, clean, tidy, staff friendly could do with more comfy chairs though for late night drinks! Skipped breakfast so couldn't comment but looking at the menu it all seemed rather expensive for what it was. The coffee we had before leaving was fine if not a little pricey. From the moment I drove into the car park it was obvious that this two night stay was going to be different. The car park was littered with broken glass and food waste from the large bin at the kitchen door. Parking was uneventful though after after avoiding the potholes! Arrived Saturday for two nights.The room was disgusting. Absolutley filthy dressing table seat covered in multiple stains (see pic). Bathroom was disgustingly filthy, the bath sealant was unbelievable (see pic). Toilet roll holder needed condemning and we complained. They were unable to give us a better room. We demanded to speak to the general manager. He was telephoned and was on the "River Thames on business" and would not speak to us. If I'd read the reviews first, I probably would have driven straight past, but we ended up in Wetherby unplanned during our UK holiday (full day drive from the ferry - had booked York for the following night - one night unbooked). As we arrived at 7pm, looking very weary, the receptionist took pity on us and upgraded my husband and I to a business room, and our teenagers got a room down the hall (no interconnecting rooms avail). Both rooms were clean and comfortable, ours had more space and nicer bathroom. Prices were very reasonable... more

Stayed with family for 2 nights, room recently refurbished big improvement but sadly let down by old and tired bathroom (free mould included), staff a bit chilly and restaurant expensive,food at best average, room service is microwave food at restaurant prices. Room price was cheap for a family of 5, 2 ajoining rooms, breakfast was good. A big improvement from a year ago but still not upto standard, cheap and cheerful.

Two visits necessitated by business! Non smoking rooms reeking of tobacco, walpaper peeling, filthy bathroom, dust everywhere. Horrendously expensive meal in the resturant which was a self-service affair similar to a motorway service area - food of similar quality. No feedback forms but a note was left in the room. This hotel chain must be in serious trouble to allow this.

An absolutely awful hotel, the room was so small and dirty, cigarette burns in the carpet and dressing table despite being a non smoking room, the bathroom was filthy, the bath was the smallest bath I have ever seen and was covered in mould and mildew all around the edges, the toilet did not have a toilet seat on it. Overall this hotel is in deperate need of closing down and rebfurishing.
