Good job we arrived by taxi - as hotel looks nothing like the photo in the guides!
Once inside however it is fine - and, unlike the previous review, booking in was efficient. The room was fine - we had a room at the back, which is quieter than the front, but these rooms are right next to the train-line (dart), and you can certainly hear the trains as the rumble past. I assume, however, that they don't run at night - as we certainly did not hear any when we returned to our room at night, or perhaps we had enjoyed the craic too much!
We enjoyed the pub, McCoys, that is attached to the hotel, and the breakfast was superb.
The location is pretty good, being close to the city centre, although the walk is through some areas that are not the best.
We have been to Dublin 3 times - it is a great city - and we would certainly consider staying here again.

On arrival, the hotel could not find our booking and requested that we pay full price for our 2 rooms, even though I produced our fully paid receipt and reference number. They said it was up to us to contact Expedia as they had not received the booking from them. On demanding that it was not our problem and refusing to remove from the reception area, we then had to wait over an hour for our rooms to be sorted out. Several managers later and no apology! we got our rooms.
Room itself was dated and very noisy, could not open the window for fresh air and the so called air con made so much noise didn't know what was worse.
We will not be returning to this hotel. If you book request a room at the back of the hotel it is more quiet.

I booked a 3 day Christmas break in Dublin for myself and two adult children.
The hotel where we were to stay did not provide a festive Christmas day lunch and so I pre-booked lunch at the above hotel.
Although the hotel itself was fine and the staff were polite, our Christmas meal and experience was so disappointing.
While we were waiting to sit at our tables the waiters were dashing around tables, in full view of guests, putting cheap, flattened crackers and poppers on the tables and when I complained about the flattened crackers the waiter just swopped mine with another!
Our meal cost 69 euros each and it consisted of:
A small dish of prawns on a small bed of lettuce with no sauce
A bowl of soup (vegetable I think )
Turkey breast filled with ham, a few brussels and carrots, a ball-shaped potato croquette and mashed potato ( the potato tasted as if it was made from powdered mash from a packet ).
My daughter had a vegetarian dish which was just peppers on rice with a sauce. We were not offered any more vegetables.
We then had a slice of Christmas pudding and then a coffee.
Overall we thought it was pretty poor quality and we were so disappointed and to top it all they haven't responded to my complaint.
I have written and emailed to complain and I have received one email acknowledging my complaint with a promise that they would telephone me.
I haven't heard from them since.
