Boscolo Atlantic Hotel

We spent 4 nights here to finish our 2 week vacation in France. We picked a 4 star hotel to finish it off with a bang. What a mistake. This hotel should not be rated 4 stars. We ended up with a double bed instead of 2 twins, which wasn't the worst part. The fact that we could barely walk around the bed because the room was so small was the issue. We had a toilet AND a bidet in the very small bathroom - Why? The rug was so dirty I refused to take my shoes off and walk on it. My wife and I stayed here May 7th to 10th and arrived with a little trepidation following the reviews on tripadvisor. We couldn't have been more pleased! Right from the start the staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly on reception were nothing was too much trouble. We did pay for an upgrade to a superior room on the 4th Floor, this was well worth it (50€ a night) with views of the old town, lovely sunny balcony and plenty of space. We stayed here for 3 nights in late April and it is definitely NOT 4*, would struggle to give it a 2*. The room was just down right grotty, no shower, paint was peeling, the lightswitches were hanging out of the wall! The stairwell was blocked with scaffolding as they were painting the walls, the roof over the main stairwell had rain pouring in as it was leaking from the nights before rain and several windows were smashed and just taped together over the hole!! As a late birthday treat I decided to book a short trip to Nice, for myself, two sisters and my Mum. We spent four nights at the Boscolo Atlantic, arriving on the 10th April 2004. I have to say that I felt the location of the hotel was ideal, in that it meant that nothing was too far away, and the Boulevard Victor Hugo is a lovely tree lined street. Mine and my boyfriends birthday in March so thought how nice to go to Nice and the Riveria. And yes it was fantastic EXCEPT the hotel. The only thing worth going to the Atlantic for is the breakfast. There was no parking when we were promised that there would be - so we had to pay 15.50 euros per day to park the hire car. The room was shocking - it wasnt even as good as a 3 star. Stayed there last Feb during Nice Carnival, got a double for less than £50 a night B&B (having booked 3 months earlier) and the breakfast was great. Public rooms excellent, service good, bedrooms OK (agreed, a bit short of true 4* standards, but better than 3* for Europe). Good location, well worth checking the price before booking elsewhere.

This hotel is definitely NOT a 4* hotel. It's a 2* at best. Save your money! From outside it looks good but the rooms are terrible! Cheap looking and very old furniture. Go to a 2* hotel and that way you'll feel at least that you got what you paid for!

Don't know what hotel "Please trust me, it's terrible" and "Disappointed" stayed at. However, our experience in mid-August 2003 was totally different. Great service at check in. Rooms were nicely furnished, no peeling paint or uneven legs on furniture and ac worked fine. Our rooms were non-smoking as requested. We stayed at the Atlantic Boscolo hotel July 2004. This was not a 4 star hotel. It was more or less a 2 star hotel that was also air conditioned. The rooms were severely delapidated. Our first room didn't even have a shower. It would take too long to summarize the other problems with the room: peeling paint, chairs with uneven legs, no drawers or dresser, antiquated hair dryer, ac that didn't work properly- in essence, problem after problem. Stayed three nights at the Atlantic in Nice. Beautiful lobby and exterior, but there were problems beyond that. Advertised no smoking rooms but when we arrived, we were told that they do not have no smoking rooms in the hotel. Asked for double or queen bed. We were given two twins.
