Great Family Hotel
from The_Heps
With a 3 year old and a wife who needs luxury !! finding a place to stay in Blackpool is tough. This hotel more than met our expectations, the rooms were spacious (even with the sofa made into a bed), very clean with all the luxuries you would expect and a little welcome pack for the litlle one. Breakfast was excellent and staff very attentive, nineteenth bar meals were good if a little pricey, evening menu was varied and offered a special. Leisure facilities and beauty room are excellent. Great location for Park, Model Village, Zoo and just a short drive from the Prom, piers, illuminations etc. We will definately be returning to this hotel.
Excellent hotel, best in blackpool
from HolidayRgreat
Stayed for 5 days at this hotel. We have stayed in a couple of expensive hotels in blackpool and were not impressed but were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. We got a cheap rate in a family room on a late deal. The staff were ok at reception, restaurant staff very nice and overall a clean place. The kids loved the swimming pool, which is very big and the gym facilities were very good. Location of this hotel is excellent as its up behind stanley park in a large parkland area, very peaceful and only a 5 minute drive to the front. The kids loved to hear the roar of lions and animals from the nearby zoo at night. A good base for a holiday in the area!
Good Facilities - Small Rooms
from ABull
We stayed at Heron's Reach on a two day golf break. The staff were very firendly and efficient, the food good quite and reasonably priced for an hotel (we had a dinner price allowance in our package). A plus point was the leisure facilities - and excellent pool, steam room, gym and sauna etc. The golf course was reasonable and had some more difficult holes, with lots of water and wildlife. The only negative point was the size of the rooms, they were a bit small and the bathroom tiny - but we were only staying for two nights, so it wasn't a major issue.
Wonderful Stay
from EstelleAndChris
The Blackpool De Vere is easily accessible by road (look for sign posts to the model village!) A grand building situated in lovely grounds which makes for a comfortable stay. Parking was ample and secure during the working week. When we arrived we were greeted by pleasant staff and upgraded to a superior room at no extra cost. The room which overlooked the golf course was spacious and clean. Extras included the use of white dressing gowns and slippers (which my fiance loved). Leisure facilities were outstanding (see other reviews). Prices in the restaurant were rather high, for those on a tighter budget we would recommend the bar overlooking the golf course. As parking is limited near the beach front we opted to use the taxi service (only about £6 to the North Pier). We had a wonderful stay in the hotel and would recommend it to anyone.
Class in Blackpool

We stayed at this hotel on Saturday 28 July. If you are a keen on sports, this is the place to stay. The leisure facilities are excellent, a 21 metre pool, 2 saunas, steam room, jacuzzi. There are 3 squash courts, golf course, tennis facilities. The breakfast was one of the best we have ever anywhere in the world. We also thought the staff very friendly. The only tips we would give is not to check in around the 3pm time at a weekend as we had to wait 15-20 minutes to check in. It might also be wise to ask for a room away from a service room as it sounded as though a dumb waiter was operating even in the early hours of the morning. Yes, we were sober. The only noise from the car park were those of the sea lions at the zoo, whose boundary is next to hotel - a change from traffic!
Fantastic stay at this lovely hotel

We spotted an ad in the Saturday paper for a really good deal on 2 nights here B & B with dinner on the first night. We were not disappointed at all. On arrival they upgraded us to a superior room - means you get bathrobes, slippers, water and better toiletries. The staff were extremely helpful and would do anything for you. We ate in the Brasserie on the first night. There is a set menu for the dinner package, although you can eat off the a la carte menu and get £21 off as part of your package. The food was good and we were looked after well in the restaurant. Breakfast was excellent - and served until 10.30am on a weekend - just what you need when you've gone to relax. There was an excellent selection of hot and cold choices and you could eat as much as you could! We would definitely return to the hotel and make better use of the facilities. I booked my husband a well deserved massage, but we didn't make use of the leisure facilities which we would next time. The location is ideal for a jaunt into Blackpool and very easy to find from the motorway. Overall a fantastic stay.
Wonderful Easter weekend
from NLvisitor
Visiting Blackpool to join our son at the Blackpool Mechanics football tournament, we were looking for a peaceful stay. We really enjoyed De Vere Herons, situated in a countryside setting on the golfcourse. Our (standard) room offered a really lovely view on (what I believe was) the 18th hole and the fairway, had good beds, internet, television and tea/coffee making facilities. Breakfast in the Brasserie was a treat. The hotel has a superb healthclub, with a big swimmingpool, sauna and steamroom and a very large fitnessroom. I would recommend the golfclub's restaurant for lunch, as it has a nice sunny terrace overlooking the course. Finally, the hotel team were very friendly and committed to making our stay enjoyable.
Excellent

My partner and I had a weekend break at Herons Reach and found it to be excellent. Check in was quick and efficient, the room spacious and clean and the bed very comfortable. We had dinner in the restauraunt which had a good menu and provided excellent quality. Breakfast was of a similar standard. The only slight downside is that we thought the drinks rather pricey.
Strangely disappointing
from panda54
The De Vere is a difficult hotel to summarise - the location is good, the room mostly clean and facilities (on the surface) very good. The location was quiet and a good distance from the 'attraction' of Blackpool - which suited me. I stayed for a couple of nights on a business trip and initial impressions were favourable. The reception staff were friendly and efficient and let me check in early. Food was fairly average - and in the Bistro hugely overpriced - £18.50 for steak and chips is not unheard of but nothing else in the hotel gave me the confidence to even try it. Wireless internet access was NOT available on all romms despite the in-room literature stating it was and the wired access just did not work (the freephone help desk was worse than useless). There was a wirelss connection in the reception area but at £15 for 24 hours a little too expensive by comparison. Would I stay here again ? - probably not given that there is a Premier Travel Lodge just up the road that offers sometihng very similar and at a better price. OK if you play golf or like to exercise or swim but otherwise not my cup of tea.

Stayed here for wife's 50th Birthday - Very disappointed. On arrival i thought we'd walked into a funeral parlour. The reception area is Black, dark and dingy. The so called 'Superior' room decor was also Black with black lampshades, black blinds with such a small... more
