My partner and I stayed in a "superior" room over the weekend on a bed and breakfast basis. The cost of £154 was, allegedly, less than the usual cost. In as much as the hotel probably ticks sufficient boxes to allow it to qualify as a 4 star rated hotel, it is, in my opinion, nowhere near what could be regarded as being of 4 star quality. There was no welcome tray as promised. The room, despite being classed as superior, was clean and tidy, but little better than those found in a Travel Inn. Breakfast was fine, with a large range of freshly cooked items on offer. Take the advice given in the hotel literature and go before 9.00 as it does get very busy after that time.
I wouldn't dream of staying at Heron's Reach again and would not recommend it to anyone.

I am a big fan of the De Vere range of hotels. I have stayed in many and have yet to be disappointed! We booked this hotel to take our children to see the Blackpool Illuminations.
The hotel is a four star rated hotel with many facilities such as a leisure club, golf course, restaurants, bars, and conference suites.
The pool is great and has a jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and sanarium attached. They also have squash courts and golf course and a gymnasium and also a beautician onsite. There is plenty to do even if it just a stroll around the golf course on the bridal path that goes all the way round the hotel grounds.
The breakfast is a buffet style of hot and cold selections. I have never seen so much choice before. The staff are friendly and welcoming. A definite 4 star luxury hotel.

Poor quality hotel, even though awarded 4 stars by the AA, poor quality throughout.
Long queues in the morning for breakfast!
Poor quality rooms which were dated and poor facilities! Noisy between rooms, could hear other residents in the toilet!
Management were very poor and did not help!
Overall the hotel looks good, but save your money, you would get a better night’s sleep on booking a B&B on the sea front for £20 per night...
Don't bother!

This is the second time we have stayed at Herons Reach, the first was with the family 16, 13 and 11 and then with friends (couple).
Both occasions we thoroughly enjoyed everything about this hotel (it does need air conditioning though) The facilities are very good with swimming pool, sauna, and jacuzzi.
There are beauty treatments available and there are squash courts tennis courts and of course a golf course. It is quite expensive to play a round of golf but I negotiated a price when booking.
The hotel is in lovely grounds and you can’t believe you are in Blackpool. However the front is a fair distance away it is behind Stanley Park ( beautiful park )next to the zoo we never ventured in to the centre anyway.
The service and food are very good you are well looked after (as you would expect in a De Vere).
