booked this hotel with national holiday sounded very good for the money all encluisive, 3hrs free bar 5* hotel for 59.99each yes please!!!my dad got friend etc to come, ther were a fare few ov us that went (20) we set off at quarter to 8 in the morning, got to blackpool for about 12 to find we cud not cheackin till 3:30pm so we had to wait about 31/2 hrs which was very irritating when u have jus had a long drive, the driver droppped us off near the tower for a few hrs thn picked us up at 2.to take us to the hotel.the hotel was no wer near the town, as swe pulled my first impressions ov the hotel was not very good it looked old n tatty nothing like the pictures on the net. so i thought it might be better wen we in, when we coud eventually get checked in we had too que for about 20min we gt our keys for the doors to then find we had no idea wher our room was the staff give us no direction and the signs were not in conveniant places so it was a further 10-15 mins to find our rooms, when we evetually got into our room it was clearly not a 5* hotel it was very old fashioned, thewindowa felt and sounded like they were going to come threw with the wind we had a veiw ov the sea a tatty pond and what seemed like a old beech club house on our window ledge ther was lots ov water so sumwer there must ov been aleek the bedding was clean and bathroom semed relitavly clean the telly was a oldfashioned one with only 5 channels.
the facilitys like gyn n sauna etc wer the best bit about the hotel apart from been told we had full accsess of facilites and thn ing to pay for the gym...the staff wer very miserable and unpleasent...and dnt think i seen any smile...we wer told we dint have to out the room till 12 but got a nock at 10.30 and had to do mre waiting about till 2.00 which is more anoying the breackfast was only on for 1hr 7.30-8.30 which is stupid.whilst we were waiting for the coach to pik us wp the coffee shop in the hotel was a joke they had nothing what u asked for such a s toast, teacakes bacon sandwhiches the chips was a 30min wait which is radiculas we was glad to get home!!!!
back in its day the hotel would ov been good but it needs sevearly updating and refubishing, new staff ur aged between 18-50 u dont want to be going there its defenatly targets OAPS even my dad n friends who are 50+ wer disapoined with entertainment etc... overall this hotell was very disapointing and did not live upto its expectationsi would not recommend it to any body

just returned from the norbreck after a full week (7 nights)and have to say its not as bad as some are saying!. after spending 5 months on these websites reading reviews everyday and getting obsessed with reading them all i was going to cancel my holiday, but i am very pleased i did not! yes its not 5 star but its not claiming to be, its a fab 3 star and value for money. our family room 460 balmoral wing was large with a seaview and clean, with maids bringing fresh towels everyday as well as making up our beds and refreshing our tea, coffee, and biscuits supply. food was nice, always hot with lots of choice, my tip is to book your evening meal slot straight after brekfast to get an early slot, the earlyier you eat the better dining experience you will have and the therfore the better evening entertainment seat you will get! pool nice and clean and swim as much as you want within the hours stated. yes the hotel is a bit dated but that did not stop us from having a fab week. yes it is quite far from the action but theres a bus stop right outside the hotel £8.50 for a family all day ticket is fab and cheaper than the tram! beach just over the road from hotel, lovely and clean sand. we all had a fab week.

  • Advice: use the bus its cheaper than petrol and finding parking

After saving up for a nice break to blackpool my girlfriend and i had booked the Norbeck castle hotel, this was meant to be a relaxing break with a different change of scenery and it definatley started badly.
We had just got into our room (first floor 93) and was hit by the smell of backed up drains, the room reeked and the cuirtains were covered in mould.
So we set off back to the reception desk and complained, we were then shown to another room on the 7th floor and were told that this was the more expensive room with a sea view, i tried to look out of the window and saw a creamy fog so i wiped it off with the hand towel which became black in an instant. We were furious so i marched down to the reception and complained showiing the towel to the staff. I was then told that we could only have one nights stay refunded.
what a TOTAL WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. do not go.

Should be renamed Colditz Castle

If you tell the locals you are staying here they laugh!
In the dinning room the air conditioning makes your food cold. There's more room in a cattle truck than the dinning room.
The room didn't have a proper toilet. It sounded like the Tardis when flushed. The water pipes went up through the floor and across the ceiling. The taps sounded like a pneumatic drill.

DONT BE FOOLED LIKE I WAS ITS A LOVELY CASTLE FROM OUTSIDE NOT INSIDE THIS HOTEL IS A DUMP,
I booked here on 2rd July 2011 for 2 nights, and the staff are very rude, not helpful, the reception manager john are not helpful if there any problems, and even put the phone down on me rooms are not clean, was that bad I left next day, when we got there they did not have my booking, as computers was down for 3 days,
I booked double room ended up with a twin room dirty hole after waiting 2 hours for it,with a view of bins and dirty streets, its old fashion,
It is miles from the town takes hour to walk or taxi £8.
The only good part was the spa, and parking,
The food was terribe I would not feed that to a dog, when you call there head office there do not want to know, keep saying email the problems in to us, when you call hotel the managers are always in meetings so dont talk on phone and never call you back when you leave message very disappointed I wish I didnt book this hotel waste of money and time.

  • Advice: take books with you to read nothing else to do only use spa

We have just returned from the Norbreck Castle Hotel and as usual it lived up to expectations. We have been going to this hotel for the past 15 years off and on with the children and now just the 2 of us. I actually went in the 1960's when it was 'the place to go' and it has had its ups and downs over the years but is now an excellent hotel to visit. We stayed half board and the room was clean, the breakfast was fantastic, the swiming pool was excellent and the evening meal was of superb quality and being self service, open to seconds. The bars now have happy hours and are both very inviting. This is a comfortable and pleasant hotel that probably does need a revamp but all things considered, I would recommend it to anyone.

  • Advice: It gives the opportunity to spend quality time in the hotel facilities.

Absolutely disgusting place. The room was filthy and the walls between rooms was paper thin.
My advice to the owners - either give the place a total makeover or demolish it.

We have stayed in a few Hotels some very plush and others not so. The Norbreck is a good down to earth Hotel with good facilities. The Spa and Gym are top rate. The Staff are helpful and friendly. We did not eat there so we cannot comment on the food. Our room was clean the bathroom good and both rooms were of above average size. We had a very pleasant stay and value for money this Hotel cannot be beaten.

  • Advice: Try it and see. We will go again
