Luxurious
We stayed here for one night as we were attending a wedding in the hotel. It was fabulous. The meal for the wedding was lovely, The bar was really comfortable, and the rooms were lovely. The setting is fantastic looking out to sea. There is a huge amount of watersports available, particularly surfing. I would recommend it for someone looking for a nice retreat in Ireland or for a few nights luxury.
Excellent service
We have just returned from a three night stay in this fabulous place. From check in to departure we found the level of service to be far greater than that expected for a 4* hotel. Special thanks to Yao Yao in reception for booking and confirming a restaurant in Clonakilty for our anniversity. We were very impressed with the Gulfstream restaurant in the hotel. The view from the room was fabulous, shame about the weather. The hotel was noticeably stuffy though reception did note that there was no heating on. Again we believe that this was due... more
I agree Rip Off at it's Best
I wanted to book a stay as a present for my parents and likewise i got an untrained person answering the phone, i was transfered to the SPA to make a booking there and then back to reception where i was told the was a 10% booking fee for accomadation. The package was EUR€ 310 pp sharing. I thought it was an insult to ask for a 10% service charge. Hotels like this need to be struck off by Failte Ireland
rip off
Just called here to book one night accomodation and the reservations was very rude and then told me there is a 10% service charge for €600.00 for two sharing What a rip off
a unique haven
I'm amazed to read some of the criticism of this unique place, but I guess there can always be an off day. For us, it's one of our regular getaway places. We were there in September; again just before Christmas and we have alreayd booked in for another famiyl visit in a couple of weeks time. We love it - it's ideal for unwinding and destressing atfer a hefty few weeks at work. Great location - beach/seaviews from the bedrooms and unsurpassed panorama from the dining room. There's a relaxing residents' lounge and bar as well as the bustle of... more
Overpriced weekend away
I to have to agree that the Hotel & Treatments were overpriced we asked for a non smoking sea view room and got a room that stunk of smoke and was more like something you'd expect from a cheap business hotel, You had to crane your neck to get a view of the sea. The treatment rooms are like converted bedrooms and the changing rooms were dirty. It certainly is not a luxuary retreat as the prices they charge sugest , they are living of the beautiful beach beside them
