Excellent - First Class Service All The Way
from Peg
Stayed at the hotel the first weekend in March, we had booked 8 rooms in total. The hotel staff went out of their way to make our stay special. Rooms were clean and comfortable, with plenty of space. We were a little disturbed by the reports of building work, but the only signs were a slight smell on one of the floors (not ours) We had booked DBB, breakfast was great - plenty to choose from. Dinner was excellent, the restaurant staff were superb. This was our second stay at this hotel, we'll be back.
Not a great stay.

I have just returned from a one night stay at this Marriott and was really disappointed, I have experienced such high standards from my stays at Marriotts in UK and abroad but this one really let the side down. I guess the major issue is they are going through a major refurbishment, we were allocated a room on the 3rd floor right in the middle of the work – literally! The corridor was a complete mess, builders stuff everywhere, even a yellow ‘Contruction’ barrier between us and the next room which they were clearly in the middle of. The smell of paint was overwhelming, but the let down really was the corridor was also littered with bedding, room service trays, beer bottles – there is no excuse for poor housekeeping, it was an assault course just to get to the room! Anyway we asked to be moved somewhere else which we were, all was okay (ish) until we realised the door didn’t actually shut and anyone could of walked in, to be honest it was late and we didn’t really want to move again, so we just bolted ourselves in which did the job. Next morning, after been woken up at 8am by the builders above, I was getting ready for the day and noticed a huge stain on the valence I hadn’t seen the night before – without being positive I am pretty sure it was sick! – again poor housekeeping and enough to turn my stomach, we promptly packed to leave. Plus points – breakfast was fab! Staff fairly helpful and they gave us a 20% refund after I explained what we had discovered in our room. Will we stay here again, I very much doubt it.
Excellent Hotel would stay again
from julestys
Myself and partner stayed here on a Saturday night in January 07 The hotel is excellent with a really good leisure complex with Gym,pool, sauna, steam room etc. Staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough to help. Bedrooms are really good too, with big Queen sized beds you struggle to get out of, but when you do there is a great breakfast waiting for you. It did say they were undergoing alterations, but we never heard anything. If you are looking to stay in Manchester or just ouside I would advise you stay here. Julian Stafford UK
Fne stay at Marriott

Stayed here for a weekend catching up on some rest. My wife visited Trafford Centre and I met up with some local pals. I m normally one who never sleeps well on a first night in a new setting but had no problems here. The bed was really comfortable. Had Breakfast/Room Service and both were fantatsic. Room Service is often not as good as in a restaurant for logistical reasons here however it was top notch. My wife's lamb was as good a dish as she can remember. Breakfast was both plentiful and first class. Room was large with anything you might want working well. Location good for shopping and other local connections with the west or city of Manchester. For football watchers Newcastle were in residence prior to a game at Man City
Good hotel, would stay again

Picked this almost at random (wanteda 'name' hotel close to manchester city centre) but definitely struck lucky. Got the hotel at what I would say was an OK rate for this class of hotel of £118 for a room inc full breakfast, but upon checkin was offered an upgrade to a suite for £50 a night extra but with £50 per night back if paying with Amex! So, a suite for £118 a night definitely a bargain. NIce rooms, really comfy bed, great leisure facilities (huge pool), just a pity I dont play golf or it would have been perfect. Trafford Shopping Centre was 10 min down the road, and the centre of Manchester 15 min or less. This hotel is also used by a lot of footballers playing at Old Trafford, and surrounding areas, (as shown by the signed shirts along the wall into the leisure centre) and we bumped into West Ham on our way out (though maybe they ate too much of the excellent buffet breakfast as they lost 4 0 to Bolton :-) Talking of the breakfast.,a classic full English breakfast on hotplates, plus chef cooking omelettes & waffles etc, plus everything else (pastries, cereals, fruit etc etc) was included, I literally didn't feel hungry until about 4pm! Hotel staff were friendly and efficient, cant really fault this place, if you were a golfer you'd love it it because of the onsite course. Onsite restaurants the usual pricy affairs, but you get a choice of two at different prices, also the sports bar with cheaper basic food, plus a couple of big pubs that did food within 10 minutes walk / 3 minutes drive (we didnt try these) To get there was easy, just off the motorway so easy to find and gain access to nearby places, at £118 for an ordinary room I would stay again and I hope if I booked in advance I could get an even better rate or maybe the Amex upgrade offer would still be going.
Nice setting, some areas a bit tired
from nmorgan1978
Typical Marriott, one the face of it very high class, with prices to match, but on closer inspection some areas starting to get a little tired. Some carpets fraying and bathroom could do with makover - poor shower head and dirty grout on tiles. On the positive side a great location, fantastic grounds and golf course, very good spa facilities. Room service was very efficient, but I had to order if from a phone in the hallway as the one in my room was completely dead! Nice hotel and would be good for weekend, also handy for access to motorway network. Not the best value though given the high prices and could use a little investment
Great Golf
from marksterguy
I stayed at this hotel last year and found it very relaxing. They have all the facilities I needed as a traveller from abroad (especially the Jacuzzi. I played a round of golf and the course is excellent. I found more information on the golf here at worsleypark.info. Thoroughly recommended.
Good facilities, friendly staff

Nice relaxing location to meet up with friends
from GLN
Just got back from a lovely weekend at the Worsely Park Marriott Hotel and Country Club. We stay near Glasgow and our friends stay in the South of England so the location was perfect for us all - in the middle, annd just off the motorway away from the busy city centre traffic. The hotel has nice grounds and is perfect for a quiet, relaxing getaway. We were fortunate to have good weather and spent most of the day in the courtyard and enjoyed some lunch and refreshments. Myself and my friend went also went for a treament each in the Spa and found the staff to be very pleasant and helpful. Prices for treatments weren't bad either. We enjoyed our evening meal in the hotel's restaurant - good choice available on the set menu and the staff were friendly and efficient. We also had a few drinks in the bar and appreciated the non-smoking area. The breakast buffet which was also included in our package offered a good selection of hot and cold options. The rooms were a good size, decorated to a high standard, and ample toiletries/towels etc were provided. Because of the good weather we didn't make use of the pool/sauna etc but I'm sure it would have been nice.
Relaxing stay...

This was my 2nd stay at the Marriott Worsley Park and we enjoyed it as much as the 1st time. I took my friend for her birthday and we had a fab time. Room overlooking the golf course, spacious and well laid out. Fluffy bathrobes, plenty of towels and toiletries. Room clean and hotel clean, fast and efficient check in. Bar staff friendly and attentive. We ventured down to the pool and the facilities were excellent - steam room to die for, powerful jacuzzi and large swimming pool. By night we ventured out to Tung Fong in Worsley which was an enjoyable meal and dining experience! Next morning, breakfast in bed - this was on time and hot, complete with lots of supplies to get us through the day. All in all a great experience! Will try the spa next time as heard some ladies chatting about treatments and they gave them the thumbs up.

I have attended this hotel numerous times and live within 1.5 miles of it. The hotel is situated in lovely grounds and is surrounded by a golf course. It is very conveniently located for the motorway network and is a popular business and conference venue. It is a stopping... more
