Going Under Refurb!!!!
Stayed in the hotel, saw the "new room" Fabulous! I will deffinitely stay next year when the hotel is refurbished and trendy. They said that they will build a conference centre...cant waite for that!!! Food is great, staff is the lovliest i town, very helpful! Highly recommended establishment, great potential!
Terrible Hotel
This is a very poor Hotel; aged rooms, bad food and a smokey pub atmosphere. We paid £75/night during a business trip and in my experience this standard is not worth more than £30/night. There is a travelodge directly across the road that would provide a much better (and cheaper) alternative
Don't bother - it's dire.
Two of us stayed at this place during a business trip on 19/10/05. The Reception area was cold with an odour of cigarette smoke (although the Receptionist was very pleasant and helpful). The bar was inundated with cigarette smoke (Yuk!) and dominated by a wide screen television showing football. (More Yuk!) The noise from the squash courts played a continual thud into both of our rooms (the courts close at 21.30 hours). Having booked a specific time for an evening meal the hotel informed one of us that it's time had been put... more
Motown? Warrington Town?
A Group of 30 girls from Liverpool stayed for a hen night. WE ALL AGREED THE HOTEL IS EXCELLENT. The leisure facilities were luxurious a great way to start off a good day. The rooms were well equiped, clean and tidy. Staff were very helpful. We paid for the meal and caberet, this wasn't really to the taste of alot of us. The group that were on were supposed to be Motown they looked like they had been made redundant from a childrens T.V. programme & robbed STEPS wardrobe. They were a TRAGEDY.The bar prices were very high and with only two... more
Excellent Location and facilities
Stayed at the Village for a weekend break in March and had a fabulous time. The location is superb for the town centre for shopping etc, and the leisure facilities are far superior to many others, ideal for relaxing after a hard days shopping!! We ate in the Village Pub which is friendly and relaxed and excellent value for money. A very enjoyable stay.
Great Stay
I have been staying on business for the last 3 months in Warrington and last week stayed at the Village hotel for the 1st time, The room was excellent with lots of the space and with 3 choices of dining I had lots of options for eating. The leisure facility were superb although I didn't use the gym, far to energetic!
Would rather sleep in an orange box
Stayed there on a business trip and felt that my company had definately played a Christmas joke on me. There was a Christmas party on that was making use of all the facilities and looked like a scene from Viz magazine- it made me go to my room immediately which itself reminded me of a student house I once lived in- its was dreadful and how they get away with charging £90+/night is beyond me. My recommendation would be to stay elsewhere.
Brilliant
A group of 18 stayed at the Village Hotel from 08/04/05 until 11/04/05. I had read the 2 reviews before leaving so was not 100% sure but my Husband had been the year before and had a fantastic weekend with a group of lads. We all had a fab weekend. The Hotel was wonderful, rooms were very clean, fresh and tidy(NO WALLPAPER HANGING OFF). The Hotel bars and restaurants were excellent and good value. The bar snacks and a la carte menu were very good and good value for money. Although I did not use the leisure facilities: those that... more
Stay Away
The worst hotel i have ever stayed in. I would sleep on the street before i went back to village hotel warrington. i got the room free (my company paid) and i feel as if it cost me too much. Room was large with wallpaper peeling off, bathroom ok. meals: choice of bar or resturant, reasonable prices but not very good food. Staff stole an aftershave from me, and my friends got things stolen from their rooms too. I put a do not distub sign on my door, the maid knocked and knock untill i got up and shouted at her ("are you blind, can you not see... more
Sub-standard for the price
Spacious but tatty room. Radiator hanging off wall, headboard hanging off bed with old hairspray can visible behind. £110 per night but couldn't leave heat on when leaving room despite cold temperatures. Not what I expect for this sort of money. Evening meal was nice though!
