Flights operated from Gatwick good flight times , food and beverages onboard complimentary...chose a taxi as opposed to transfers cost approx 30 Barbados dollars.
The Hotel was colourful rooms decorated in traditional Caribbean style...we had a sea view room the rooms were well equipped we had a fridge, a safe, en-suite bathroom with shower/bath. The room was very spacious with large mirrors very clean and air-conditioned...the staff were very friendly and truly enhanced the Caribbean experience.
There were brochures in the room which held details of excursions which could be booked through the hotel in addition to this the B.A. rep visited to welcome us and give details of excursions as well, highly recommended harbour lights, for an all inclusive price of approx £35 per person you get transfers a full barbeque style dinner live Caribbean entertainment as well as free entry to the famous open air night club afterwards and from the moment you get there til the moment you leave at 2:30am unlimited alcohol beverages including cocktails all included excellent value for money and a truly un-miss able night with a great Caribbean atmosphere.
Opposite the hotel on the beach front there was an array of beach bars offering economical snacks and drinks, particularly came alive at night with a DJ, would recommend the bars 'fully loaded cocktails'(not on an empty stomach though).
Just a short bus ride away , bus stop situated right outside Blue Horizon you can hop on the bus and pay approx 50p each to get to St. Lawrence gap...there is a restaurant called the Pisces there which offers some of the best sea food on the island a little more pricey but well worth it and the ideal place to be should you wish to spot the odd celebrity.
We changed our money before we left U.K. to Barbados dollars but realised when we arrived there we would have got approx 2percent more if we changed through the hotel...Barbados dollars are easier to use than us dollars and you also get slightly more for your money. We stayed in the hotel on a b and b basis with the continental option which included toast, fruit preserve and a variety of Caribbean breads highly recommend you try their banana and coconut bread absolutely delicious!
On returning home I would highly recommend if the facility to check in online with your airline is offered you use it. We used it with B.A. via the internet facility available at the hotel which meant we only had to arrive at the airport one hour before departure with the assurance that we had seats together and the convenience of an express queue. Overall a truly enjoyable holiday a place definitely worth visiting more than once.
