Great For A Relaxing Holiday!

Loved the Los Colinas Apartments! They were ideal for a quiet getaway. Approx. 20 minutes walk from the main downtown area but courtesy bus was very handy. No children when we were there-which was a bonus. Pool area very quiet all day and extremely relaxing! Was not impressed by the next door apartments-Paradise. Allowed people (mostly drunk) to use the pool at all times of the evening-up until midnight-and we were told by a few people that it was difficult to get a sun lounger unless you were up from all hours putting towels down!!(This was not the case at anytime with Los Colinas Aprtments..always very peaceful).All-in-all I would highly recommend Los Colinas apartments (very clean and quiet) but would steer clear of Paradise apartments next door-unless I was on a hen party holiday.

hi having booked to stay at las colinas for two weeks, was told via booking agency that there was entertainnment for children, etc, staff was great, nice n freindly but the appartments themselved were miles from anything, 20 mins at least walk and the bar closed at 12.00 midnight. after 3 days staying here we moved to galeon playa appartments at a further cost of 120 stirling to us and lost any monies for the accomodation already paid at las colinas, no good for the elderly or with a young family due to the lentgh of walking required and cash spent on taxis, so look a bit closer to town noy oiut in the sticks

Just back from a fab week at Las Colinas. Apartment large and spotlessly clean. Beds need their mattress turning but other than that, couldn't fault it really.
The apartments are a good walk into town (20 minutes +), a few other guests found this unacceptable and spent a large proportion of their time moaning about it. We found the walk to be very enjoyable though there are a few hills which could make it difficult for those with mobility difficulties.
The beaches were lovely, all very clean and pretty with rocks and little coves in which to soak up the sun. The local bus service is useful, taking you into the capital, to very secluded, quiet beaches or to Teguise to the Sunday market. Much cheaper than taxi and more fun. We also did a day excision to the Volcanoes and other places. Timanfyre was excellent, I can recommend that tour. I would probably hire a car next time as bus tours are completely dreadful. We got dragged to various places to spend money rather than to enjoy the sights.
It was very windy all week. This is normal for Lanzarote but can drive you potty after a whole day in it! If you have long hair, you need plenty of grips and bobbles handy or you will find your hair sticking to your suntan lotion all the time! I would also take a few warm clothes as the evenings can get chilly. The biggest disappointment for us was the rubbish shopping - I've seen better quality tat in Blackpool!
All in all, we had a lovely week with fab weather and would recommend Las Colinas to anyone.

We holidayed at Las Colinas, Lanzarote for the first time. We booked independently and also had car hire from the airport with 5Cars/Gold Cars - very reasonable. The location of Las Colinas is ideal - it was quiet whilst we were there and I would imagine it is reasonably a quiet area all year round as it is on the very edge of Costa Teguise. Its really straightforward to get on the road and to find from the Airport. From the apartments there is a 20 minute walk into the main area - shops and restaurants, however if you have the use of the car there is plenty of parking alongside the road in the main area. Apparently there was a bus 3 times a day to/from the main area. A selection of english/irish bars if you want that sort of thing - but we ventured off of the main tourist strip and found some more traditional restaurants offering traditional Tapas and spanish wines. Why go to Spain and eat English breakfasts, drink and eat in an English bar, have a Sunday lunch, watch TV and use the internet ? - thats what I want to get away from. I believe there were charges for using the TV, Air Con and the Safe in the apartments - but we didnt have need for any of it, so cannot comment. The apartments inside and outside were really clean and very spacious and we had lovely views across Costa Teguise from the top floor. Although we didnt use the cooking facilities within the apartment, they were more than adequate with a two ring hob, microwave oven, toaster, kettle and the usual supply of pots and pans etc. We did buy two mugs to use as the tea cups were quite small. It was too cold to use either of the swimming pools but they were both clean. We didnt use the Hotel's bar or shops so cannot comment on service or quality. There was some entertainment provided each night at the Pool Bar. The reception staff were always friendly and efficient.
I would definately recommend visiting the National Park of Timanfaya in the west of the Island. The volcanic landscape and coach tour is great. We found the nicest and quietest beach near Orzola in the North East, golden sands, flat and calm sea to wade into. Just before you reach the town of Orzola there is a little dirt track and parking area for the beach. Also fantastic fresh fish restaurants alongside the shoreline at El Golfo - a tiny town in the West. On the road between El Golfo and Play Blanca is Los Hervideros - a bizzare rock formation along the shoreline with crashing waves of the most brilliant bluest water ive ever seen ! I didnt think much of the Sunday Market in Teguise - typical tat for sale for the tourists and tourist prices in the restaurants surrounding the market.
I think Costa Teguise was the nicest resort on the island, not so many bars, shops, or younger tourists around (unlike Puerto del Carman or Playa Blanca) and very scenic. Great walks along the footpath that runs from Playa Bastian all the way to the far east side of Costa Teguise. I'd recommend printing a street map from www.the-buzz-pages.com to find your way around. I'd definately go to Las Colinas and Lanzarote again.

Hi
The Las Colinas complex is in fact one section of two adjoining complexes the other section being the Lanzarote Paradise each comprising of approximately 48 apartments.
Each have seperate pools, a supermarket and communial bar area with a single reception area servicing each complex.
Our apartment at Las Colinas was very clean and quite spacious.
It had ample space for our 2 children aged 7 & 14 with a decent south facing balcony and generous living area/bedroom with main bedroom containing 2 single beds.
Kitchen had microwave, fridge, hob, kettle, 2 slice toaster and included all cutlery and dishes required for self catering - even had cork screw and bottle opener ;)
Living area had fold down sofa, 2 chairs, tables, TV plus a single foldaway bed.
Maid service was twice a week which we thought could have been better improved with at least 1 extra visit a week.
Pool wasnt very clean on arrival (Sunday) - dirty 'tide mark' visible at water level and general leaves/twigs etc visible on top. Pool was cleaned next day and seemed to remain clean for rest of our stay. Pool was very cold and not heated.
A few points to note before booking:
AIR CONDITIONING:
Although complex is listed as having air conditioned rooms you must PAY 25 Euro per week plus 5 Euro deposit for the remote control to switch it on!!
TELEVISION:
To view TV you need to insert 1 Euro for EVERY hour of viewing!!
SAFE:
Safe was 28 Euro per week plud a 10 Euro deposit - Total 38 Euro per week!!
LATE CHECKOUT:
45 Euro if you require to keep your room after 11am on day of departure!!
INTERNET ACCESS:
1 Euro for only 12 minutes!!
Overall our experience in Las Colinas was pleasant but made less enjoyable because of the extra hidden expenses levied by the complex.

Very good accomadation, cheap and cheerful as expected, its only somewhere to shower and get your head down after all.The hotel bar is good too. Lanzerote is brilliant if you like exploring, so book a hire car before you leave and pick-up and drop off at the airport. The cost will be the same as not paying for transfers and a taxi fare everyday. A drive round the Island is worth it anyway. Go to Tiramanfyer national park, the visitor centre is brilliant and free!
Playa Blanca in the south is great for a day out and try the ferry for a 45 min. journey to Fuertaventura.
Pueto Del Carmen is fantastic for shopping and a long stroll along it`s beach and picturesque harbour area. But the best beach by far is at the little town of Arieta, a bit of the beaten track and unspoilt but the swimming is fantstic. Be warned that there are hardly any Brits. so you might need some Spanish, but the local restaurants next to the beach are great.
Costa Teguise is a well behaved place with a welcome lack of lager louts, but plenty of places to enjoy a night out. I strongly recomend The Dolphin bar, very friendly with a great fun quiz every night. The Scots and Rye in the Centre is worth a visit for a knees-up, and dont miss a visit to the tapas bar near the Los Molinos hotel on the main road.
Enjoy!

The apartments are very spacious indeed! Whilst not in the main resort it's only a 10 minute walk to the Beach (Playa Bastian) as well as bars and restaurants. My girlfriend and I enjoyed being just outside the centre, plus we were close to the waterpark! Las Colinas is a very modern resort and very clean. We cannot complain about anything. Would definitely recommend it!

Well first off all, a key point in which my fellow holiday makers should know is that if you have a flight in which it is delayed and you arrive late after 9pm you will only be able to get food and drink from the town centre as the Shop is shut in the apartments. Myself and my family were very dissapointed that Thomas Cook did not provide any food or even WATER when we arrived late from the airport.
Just arrived back from the apartments, in which i spent a lovely seven days, but there are also people who love to put towels down at 8 in the morning to get the space by the pool side. The apartments could benefit hugely by gaining new staff in some of the bar areas espially the Shop area.
The apartments were very big and spacious and clean, we had a pool side view and a sea view with a sunny balcony in which my father farted many times on it and enjoyed the odd smoke. I unfortuntaly was burnt very badly so i spent my times indoor mostly.
The apartments are about a 25 minute walk from the main resort , but we mostly got Taxis to the town centre for about 3 euro each journey.

We have just arrived back from Los Colinas and we had a fantastic holiday! The one bedroomed apartment was ample for two people, we had a very clean living room-dining area, fridge, microwave and two hobs for cooking. The bedroom was large with ample storage and access to balcony from bedroom and lounge. We had a lovely sea view on third floor, and there's a lift too.
We were a 10 minute walk from Playa Bastian the local area where we had numerous wonderful meals, look out for Steptoes, a great English Bar, does a fantastic sunday lunch. The hotel provides a courtesy bus 3 times a day to Costa Teguise the main town but we actually discovered its a 25 min walk along from Playa Bastian beach so we walked down and jumped on the courtesy bus back.
Thoroughly recommend the tourist tours as there is lots to see. The 'South Tour' with last minute travel was outstanding, we had a lovely packed day out. We also visited Playa Blanca market which is better than the well-known Teguise market.
Overall we had a fantastic holiday and plan to return next summer!

Perfect holiday!
Me and my boyfriend booked this as a cheap last minute deal and it turned out to be the best holiday we have been on.
The apartments are very clean and spacious, we had a view of the pool which was also a nice bonus.
Its about a 15-20 minute stroll into the centre of costa teguise or 2-3 euros in a taxi, (its a nice walk though). In the centre there is a good selection of restaurants/bars, (we enjoyed a very nice mexican meal).
There is also a smaller strip of shops, bars and supermarkets closer to the apartments about 5 minutes walk away, ideal to walk to, to stock up on drinks.
There is a small shop on the complex which sells mainly the basics, all the staff seemed very polite and helpful, when we needed help or directions.
The apartments are cleaned very regularly, along with the towels and bedding.
Its also great that it is joined to the apartments next door so if you fancy a change you can go and sit around that pool instead which is a bit livelier, as the one at las colinas was very quiet.
It is an ideal place for young couples (like ourselves), older couples and families with young children (there is also a play area for the young children), anybody who just wants to go away to relax.
The apartments are in a beautiful location just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the towns but close enough to be able to acess them in the evening for your meal.
Overall i cant find any faults with this place, apart from the pool was a bit cold. The hotel also put on a free shuttle bus that runs down to the beach 3/4 times a day, and will bring you back from where it dropped you as long as your at the stop on time, which i found was very handy as the beach is beautiful.
We had an amazin holiday and intend on going back in the near near future.
Also if you get chance, try the pizzas from the pool snack bar, they are gorgeous! x

Just got back from Lanzarote on the 3rd January 2008. The place is lovely and the people over there are so nice, friendly and helpful.
The apartment had so much space and was very clean and fresh. The people who work there are very helpful.
The pool is nice and looked great for kids, one thing with the pool is you only get the sun in the morning and a bit in the afternoon but as I'm not a lover of sitting round the pool, we took a walk down to the town and beach most mornings to catch some sun!
The walk from the apartments to town only takes 10 - 15 mins if you don't enjoy walking and not an active person then you might not like the walk.
If you have kids or is an adult but still acts like a kid (ME), the apartments are right next to the water park.
We went self catering, myself and boyfriend it was the best thing we done. There are so many places to eat and the prices are great.
I will be going back there in June 2008 cause the people, the hotel and the weather was brilliant.

Apartments were spacious and clean. Air con in living room but with the doors left open the cold air circulated nice! There was a refundable deposit required for the air con.
Balcony with sea and pool view - Fab! Not many sunbeds but the apartments were quiet so there were enough beds to go round. Pool looked nice but absolutely freezing could of been a bit cleaner.
The bar was actually a bar/shop which was mostly empty, but the apartments were twinned with the next door apartments where the bar was busier. I think most families were allocated these apartments.
Staff were helpful. The resort itself was about 15-20min walk, a small resort which would suit young families or older couples. Couldn't find a nice beach, the one in the resort was not very big and very rocky. Irish Bar and Ma Bakers were good for sports and beer!
Had a fab time and would definitely return to Lanzarote. Booked through lowcostbeds.com
