Nunsmere Hall Hotel

We've just returned from two nights there. The room was beautiful, and the gardens good sized and pretty. But, service was mediocre. It's all a bit small print, but at this type of place it should be better Nothing was bad, just a collection of annoyances. Breafast - had to keep asking for toast and croissants. Placed on a table,and then had strangers added. We just got back from an overnight stay at this Country House and I have to say it is one of the nicest stays I have had in England. I loved everything about it. The House itself is lovely and even in Winter the grounds were immactulate. The location is just so charming - surrounded by a lake - it must be stunning during the summer. We spent one night here, in our way from Edinburgh to the Thames Valley. Arriving in the afternoon, we could enjoy the beautifull gardens, just after being served a cup of tea in one of the lovely sitting rooms. Our bedroom was an attic, very charming and well furnished. Dinner wasn't excepcional, but correct. Breakfast was excellent. What else to expect in the middle of a car trip?

Nunsmere Hall is absolutely fantastic. If you want to go somewhere special then go there. Room - fantastic, service - fantastic, food - fantastic, setting - fantastic.I took my girlfriend there last year and she thought it was the best place she'd ever stayed. Highly recommended.
