Northop Hall Country House Hotel

Great service recieved on our wedding day. Friendly staff. Nothing too much trouble. This really is a beautiful setting. We stayed in a bridal suite for our wedding night, which was beautiful. Breakfast was fab!

My wife decided mid week that we should go to Chester on the Saturday for my wife to have some retail therapy, I thought that a night in a good quality hotel close to out destination, preferably at a reasonable price in this economic climate, was in order. Stayed here for week on business last summer and was reasonably happy. The staff were really friendly and always tried their best, the food was excellent and worth the visit alone and the hotel grounds really nice. On the downsides, the room was pretty small and outdated and having spent a week there I was pretty bored by the end as there was very little to do but would definitely recommend for a nigt or two.

What can i say but wow! We booked for one night only as a birthday treat. I wasn't aware when booking that there was to be a wedding party totally overtake the whole hotel, you can imagine the scene....drunk adults poncing around in their best and chilldren running around or crying but it didn't put us off as they disappeared into their function room on and off and after we'd had drinks they were bearable anyway. Entering the drive the hotel certainly looked impressive. Reception was very efficient and we were quickly allocated our room. Given that it was a Sunday evening and the hotel wasn't that busy our room couldn't have been further away. I had booked an Executive room and apart from a kingsize bed I'm not really sure what was executive about the room or its amenities, which seemed slightly tired and in need of refurbishment. I booked this hotel for the night after Valentines Day for myself & my husband as a treat just for 1 night. We got there B4 the check in time, and our room was already ready for us. I had ordered a bottle of Champagne for the room, and that arrived very promptly direct to the room. We had a couple of drinks in the bar in the afternoon, and the bar & reception staff we very friendly and took the time to come over and chat for a few minutes which was nice.
