Great choice for a weekend break, very good sized rooms (clean). Never stayed in a hotel with such helpful staff - 1st class. Everything on your doorstep - city centre, bus/train station, and some fantastic bars. The only negative was the price of the breakfast £9.00,... more

Jury's Belfast
My wife and I stayed at Jurys for 3 nights and were impressed in the overall quality of the hotel. Jurys is about 10 years young and in good shape. The bath and bed were above average for a mid-range hotel. No tour groups while we stayed but the hotel does host a lot of business meetings so it's plenty busy as you might expect a hotel in the middle of a city to be. The staff was overall efficient but not terribly friendly with a rare exception or three. The hotel pub is convenient but has no charm at all. The breakfast buffet wasn't as good or efficient as in other Jurys. Book a Black Taxi tour - you will not be disappointed. We used the Original Black Taxi, Pat was great. Also foung the Hop on Hop Off tour was pretty good for orientation purposes. Good news - The hotel is in very good condition and its location is great. You can walk to everything the city has to offer. 2 short blocks to the Crown Saloon, 1 block to the Opera House. Donegall square and City Hall only 4 blocks away. Alberts Tower and the Cathedrals about 30 minutes walk. The bus to Dublin (Aircoach) is right outside the front door. Takes about 150 minutes to arrive at Dublin Airport and then easy transfer to local buses if necessary. Leaves every hour on the half hour, 24 x 7. The main bus depot if preferred is located right behing the Europa Hotel about 2 blocks away. The Opera House is open. Overall we found the city worth a visit. If the 'peace' lasts I'm sure things will only continue to improve and the city will make it a grander experience for visitors/tourism. Belfast has lot's to offer but we found it very much a work in progress. Not so good news - Without a concierge it was difficult for us to locate quality restaurants. Even the local cab drivers didn't seem to have suggestions. Aside from Pubs there isn't a lot of nightlife. Not a big deal to us as we were there to tour the region but thought it worth a mention anyway.
