The Blue Oceanic was a huge let-down. The rooms were not as clean or colourful as the photos show. Both my husband and I had the most violent food poisoning of our lives from the cold eggs served at breakfast and the mystery meat. The hotel's doctor charged us 400% more than the going rate in Negombo.
Needless to say, our romantic get-away was ruined by our inability to leave the bathroom. Despite eating no where other than the Blue Oceanic, the General Manager refused to accept responsibility for our food poisoning and we ended up cutting our vacation short. Beware of the Blue Oceanic!!!!

My girlfriend and I, have stayed in some of the most luxurious 4-5* hotels in the world, we felt that the Blue Oceanic was a really good hotel, and it was great value for money... the rooms were basic but were cleaned almost everyday to a high level of expectation. The staff was extremely helpful, kind and very friendly.
The food was out of this world... IT WAS AMAZING!!!... We both really felt the warmth of the culture there. There was alot for us to do within the hotel as well, and the beach was amazing too... there was a brilliant equipped gym that kept us fit whilst our stay, the hotel also offered a tennis court, badminton court and squash courts.
So in conclusion... we both enjoyed our holiday and the hotel made a vast difference to it too... We highly recommend the Blue Oceanic, especially if your going on half board.. The food is splendid!!!!!!!!
