I had one night here and although the rooms were big and very clean and we had a HUGE shower and a window to match, the service was classic slapstick!, ages to get a drink and flat mixers, we left the bar early to get to a wedding do we had elswhere and returned and the service problems didn't get any better. The service was that slow that even the chef was helping out behind the bar! As a full-time wheelchair user this hotel attracted me with its promise of a "flat-floor shower". The pictures on the web-site show large modern rooms and previous reviews about the hotel were positive. The reality was a little different! The room we had was just large enough to accommodate my wheelchair on one side of the bed. Not of course the side I normally sleep on. Then there was the bed. It's modern. clean and no great surprises. Two salient points-from certain rooms (top floor and rear) you can see clearly the Cricket ground and potentially watch a match...but if you are into cricket you probably know that already! Secondly although you might not think so from a road atlas it is an easy walk into the centre of Derby-as close as the hotels near the railway station anyway.

This hotel has pretty nice bed and showers. It's OK value for money but could have been cheaper (I expect you can get better rates online). The breakfast was good - the croissants were warm (most places they're just out of a packet without even being warmed up). Probably a good place to stay if you're going to see the cricket.

Syayed for 1 night on a business trip. Hotel is absolutely fine, and I recieved excellent service. I left my PDA in the room, and on phoning they took a note, got back to me and then sent it on to my home address. Well done - I have stayed in a lot of hotels in the derby area, and this is as good as any near the centre.

This new hotel has to have the worst service of any hotel I have ever stayed in. The rooms are fine as it is a new hotel. The staff insist on pre-authorising your credit card on arrival. The first twice this was OK with my american express card. On the third occasion, they insisted on a VISA or Mastercard. I reluctantly gave them my VISA card, and paid the following day with my amex card. When I asked for the pre authorisation slip back from my VISA card, they refused to give it back.
