This is a great hotel for a leisure break. We had an upgraded room on the top floor with skylights in the ceiling. It was excellent. Really clean & well equipped.
Leisure facilities were superb, probably the best I've experienced in a hotel.
Breakfast was OK, but wasn't a buffet. You ordered what you wanted and it was fetched to you. Quality & quantity were fine, but it’s nice to help yourself and eat at your own pace.
We didn't eat in the restaurants at night. There is a Beefeater 5 mins away by car.
Bar prices were very expensive though!
The hotel was easy to find.
Booked this package direct with the hotel on their web site, but the deals have changed now. Maybe Laterooms is the best site to get a good deal now.
All in all, I'd recommend a stay here. Just shop round for the best rate and don't have too many drinks in the bar!!

My holiday in Derby was appalling to say the least. The hotel was fairly pleasant and i feel that the hotel and the journey were the only best bit of this holiday. The actual city was poor and no attractions were offered.
The surrounding area (Derbyshire) was very nice with picturesque scenery, but Derby Town Centre was shocking. With poor nightlife and thugs glory. The town centre was very small and you can walk from one end to the other in a matter of minutes.
Graffiti was everywhere and litter was a huge problem. I would seriously recommend not coming to Derby.

This was an outstanding hotel. The accommodation was clean, modern and spacious. The restaurants are expensive but the food is good.
There is a wide variety of freshly prepared food. The price of the hotel is expensive but gym,pool and sauna are included represent excellent value for money. Room service is daily. Towels and bed linen changed each day.
The hotel is close to the centre of derby and the staff are very professional. The atmosphere id very good, and reception give away free chocolates.
All in all an outstanding hotel.
