Leicester Stage Hotel

I usually stay farther out of town, but everything was booked, so I ended up here. Unfortunately, the desk had given my room to another person with a not-so-similar name and there was some confusion as I finally got a lesser room for less money. They called the poor fellow up to the desk and sort of had us confront each other. Weird. The room was not so bad, but do ask for a second floor room not overlooking the parking lot. We used this hotel as a base for a short holiday break that we took in July. Our room was quite nice and looked fairly modern. Check in was easy and even though the hotel was fairly full, the noise levels were very low. We had access to the leisure centre during our stay which was welcome at the end of the day. The restaurant on site was nice, the only drawback for us was that dinner wasn't served until 7pm. We would have preferred an earlier option. Stayed here a few times on business and it's a typical Best Western. Nothing great about it but it does everything you want. Rooms are ok-Book a family room and you'll get a double and single bed. I hate singles. Bathrooms are only average with a rather large step down to get out of the bath. The food is fine although somehow we always end up ordering extras to compliment the main meal. Nice breakfast. There are two ways of having dinner. You can do it "bar style" and sit in the main area or there is a raised section with tablecloths... more

My partner and I made the fatal mistake of having Christmas dinner at the Stage. It was atrocious - as dire and depressing as a hotel could possibly get. Indifferent food and an equally indifferent management. Not remotely like any other Best Western we have stayed or eaten at. When we got nowhere with complaints to the local manager, we went to Best Western who stated that they did not have any control over them. Stay very well clear !!

I stayed at this hotel with 3 other family members in August and thought it a dreadful expereince. The room was tatty and not clean. The carpet & soft furnishings had seen better days and overall I felt that it was in need of a thorough cleansing. The hotel corridors are narrow, dark and noisy. The breakfast buffet smacked of a holiday camp and food was of a poor quality. Best Western should disown itself of this dreadful establishment. Overall a horrible experience and I couldnt get out fast enough. Would I stay there again-never!I

A very clean and well equipped hotel. Nice leisure club, and the staff courteous. Good buffet breakfast too.

I stayed at this Hotel for the first time last week and was very impressed; it offers excellent value for money, and a pleasant change from my usual Travel Inn/Lodege haunts.

I stayed in the Leicester Stage hotel with my boyfriend over the May bank holiday, we decided to use this hotel as we were visiting the French Car Show 2006 which is held about 15 minutes away from the hotel. Very friendly staff members and meals here were beautiful. My one concern was when I went to iron my jeans from the in room iron I received qiute a nasty electric shock that cut my hand !!!!! Be very careful.

I stayed here in December 2005. My room was large and spacious, however, teh bathroom was a little tatty and could have done with being cleaned a little more thoroughly. The room was quite noisy due to it overlooking the car park, but the staff were friendly and helpful.

Stayed here earlier this year. Had enormous room with plenty of cupboard space, nicely decorated and also very good bathroom. Very good breakfast, nice staff and altogether very efficient.
