Klopp Hotel

There are only two flights a day to Iceland, and we had chosen the early one, so arrived at the hotel before noon. However, our room was ready for us to go straight up to. It was on one of the upper floors.
A twin room with views over the edge of the city across the bay on a quieter street. The windows weren't clean which was a shame. The size of the room was average, with the usual things (TV, wardrobe, mini-fridge, and kettle). The bathroom was completely black slate, with a sink, toilet and in situ shower.
*The* most annoying thing was the shower curtain, you couldn't wash without it sticking to you. But the hot water was heated by hot springs, smelt slightly sulphurous, but was lovely to use.
The hotel provides a computer terminal downstairs with free internet access for guests, which is great and saves money on post cards. But it’s next to the lift and on a shelf sticking out from the wall, so you have to stand and look up into the screen to use it.
The lobby is smart, clean and modern with a seating area on one side of reception and a small dining area on the other. There are plenty of leaflets about the surrounding area and various excursions.
A continental breakfast is provided in the morning, with the usual meat/cheese/cereal/boiled eggs and plenty of bread. It can get quite busy at peak times (8am) as people are preparing for the days excursions.

Excursions can be booked easily from reception, but its best to do that in advance and you are usually picked up from outside the hotel.
The staff all speak fluent English and are available 24 hours. They are mostly polite.
My one gripe is that there are no guest toilets on the ground floor at all, so after breakfast you would have to go back to your room to use the bathroom should you need to. One staff member told us there was a toilet on the lower level, which we were informed on our day of departure was for staff only, so we shouldn't have been using it at all!
Reykjavik is small so you're in walking access of everything, there's plenty of restaurants around, the closest being a Chinese just up the road. Just down the road is the bay, accessible by crossing the main road.
